Jim Bohnenkamp he was already working on solo projects with David Foster by the end of his tenure with the band. Chicago 17 was pretty much a Cetera solo album, as Foster tried gutting much of the brass section from it.

His vocal tracks are doubled on his recordings. I record almost all of my tracks 2 at a time then pan left and right to give it a wider sound. There's usually an effect added to his voice too. It can be reproduced live through an effects unit to sound the same as in the studio
