Brilliant sketch. I've always loved the idea that Peter Cook devoted so much time to making Dudley Moore "corpse".

One of (if not the best?) the great double-acts of all time, brilliant natural timing and fantastic chemistry between the two of them. You can tell they get much more enjoyment from getting each other to lose it on stage rather than getting laughs from the crowd:-)))))))))))£

Peter Cook, and Dudley Moore where absolutely brilliant together. This gem is hilarious and thank you for posting it. I hope you find more of same and post them also. I loved it, and it's a shame no one in the entertainment industry is anyone near the caliber of these two. To work clean and be this funny is truly a tribute to the genius of these two. I am a sucker for British humor, and this is a great example of it. We need more of this kind of humor in these crazy times in which we live. :)

@@stevecollier4741 Just saw another of their bits in which it's used to great comic effect: Pete & Dud visit the zoo. They're in the reptile house, and Cook explains to Dud that a viper and an 'asp' are the same thing. He explains that 'asp' was a word coined by Shakespeare when he was writing Antony & Cleopatra, because he needed a one-syllable word for the meter -- 'viper' wouldn't scan. Evidently, the asp bit Cleopatra in her 'busty substances'.

Just priceless. Had not seen this one. I think the fact their Pete & Dud characters are too dim to be rude (as in their obscenity-drenched Derek & Clive routines) makes them somehow funnier. This seems at least 50% improvised and totally alive because of it. Thanks for uploading.

When they did their sketch show on TV ( called not only....but also...) they always finished with the song 'Goodbye, goodbye, we're leaving you, goodbye. Sung in a faintly old fashioned way. In one of the episodes the piano, with Dud still playing was lowered by a crane into a harbour. Think it might have been released. It'll be on YT somewhere.
