Such genius. What a legacy and how much missed they both are. The detail, the timing but above all the magic of two incredibly talented and funny friends enjoying being at the top of their game. Priceless comic gold.

That amazes me too. It's SO accurate... but what's it about? It seems like it might be a Cockney cultural thing as much as some physical impairment. I've encountered _loads_ of working class Londoners with the exact same habit.

One of the great things they did in these live sketches was to try to throw each other. A good example is the Zoo sketch. Such a clever and intelligent pair.

it is sooo strange, me having lived in London in the mid sixties as a very young au-pair and watching these 2. Found them this evening by pure chance. The quality of the video is actually very good. As the conversation went on between these 2 I swear it felt as if I had seen them just a short while ago. What a strange feeling. I have to admit it took me a little while to remember the dialekt 😀 but it was allright and I laughed a lot. What a pair they where.

I have only just come across this item. Pete was great but Dudley's talent was absolutely immense and never seen since. His comedic ability was only surpassed by his musical abilities. A true loss that will never be made good.

It took the 70s for Derek & Clive to be "acceptable". The first Derek & Clive stuff came out a good eleven years after this 1965 performance.

After Pete and Dud……very little. The same goes for music from that period and much else besides. For the first time ever I hear older people saying they DON’T wish they were younger. Just watch this sketch and you can see why. They would rather have class than crap.
