Listening to Falk talking about movies and acting is like listening to a lecture at the University. He knew what he was talking about.

If you listen to Peter Falk's interviews, he's always complementing someone else, whether it's a writer, director, or producer, he never tooted his own horn, he was always singing the praises of those he worked with. Falk was a class act through and through.

Cassavetes was an interesting character. His movies are one of a kind in flavor, love em or hate em.

For my mind, Falk created the greatest TV character of the era and portrayed him to perfection

Seeing Falk in Cassavetes’ movies and starring alongside him in Mikey and Nicky really makes me just want to binge a ton of Columbo, which I’ve never seen. I remember I caught the Johnny Cash episode in a Dublin hotel and I found it hilarious how they integrated Cash into the whole detective’s world. Great stuff! Great talents (Falk, Cassavetes, and Cash alike haha)

Great video - I can't believe I'm watching Dom Delouise discussing John Cassavetes w Peter Falk - the comments say this clip is from Dinner at Five - Cassavetes was one of the godfathers of the American New Wave, maybe the most direct conduit from the international movements like the Nouvelle Vague, before this really broke out in the US with Bonnie and Clyde - Cassavetes also had major influence on later international figures like Mike Leigh, who ushered in actors like Gary Oldman, Tim Roth, and Imelda Staunton - part of an ongoing protean creative community committed to experimentation - the last time this was really strong was the indie mvmts of the 90s - who's carrying this banner nowadays? Is there still the cohesion of a movement? To match and answer the political tumult of today?

Does anyone know the name of this show? There have been many spinoffs since, but I seem to remember this iteration had a specific name.

Peter Falk is talking about his pal - listen up kids ( I refer to his round table associates) The Swingers director for example makes the goofy suggestion that JC was engaging in double talk 😅 Shhh… listen!
