Before the 80s. Our supercool high school teacher made us listen to this album in class on Friday afternoon. Best class ever.

The ending guitar solo is arguably one of the greatest of all time.

The two must have albums in the 70's were Frampton Comes Alive and Dark Side of the Moon. Everyone had these albums and it was great. Also, most Led Zeppelin albums were also big in the 70's.

This came out in the 70's (I think'75). I remember when this came out. It was played everywhere! This was the biggest selling album in Rock history for a long time. Now do yourself a favor and start listening to the Allman Bros. Cheers from Canada !

Yes, he uses a “talk box”👍🏼 The studio version of this song was released in 1973. It was much shorter at 6 minutes & 44 seconds, but wasn’t released as a single. . This live version was released in 1976 and is one of the most popular songs ever.

Yes , Peter is using the "Talk Box" on this one . Although also used by Joe Walsh and Stevie Wonder, this is the best example of this device out there.

Got to see up close a few years ago just about 6 people back from the stage looking up at him with my son- in - law! We just kept looking at each other and smiling! It was amazing!

1976 one of the greatest live albums of all-time ✌️🙂 Everyone and I mean everyone bought this album Frampton guitar work on the whole album is fantastic especially this song 🙂🎸 The TalkBox work is pure magic and the crowd lost their minds when he kicked that baby into high gear. It takes a few plays but you can start to make out words. ..but Joe Walsh used one a couple of years before on.... Rocky Mountain Way !

This is just Genius. Were they alive, I think Mozart, Strauss, and many of the other classic composers would admire!

This song all the way . Peter Frampton allllll the way . He can still sing strong till this day over 40 years later and Zoe cannot !!!! That is when you know true talent

The reason everyone wants to hear this version compared to say studio or midnight special version, is that this album is one of THE BEST LIVE RECORDINGS EVER MADE. This was 1976. We'd NEVER heard anything like this. Thanks for showing me a millennials reaction to this song. (Aside from my son who grew up listening to it. Lol) I could see you were seriously mindblown.

I would pick this over stairway because this is mostly improvised. And they certainly caught the magic of a night Frampton and the band was on form on this night. And that is the magic of live music recorded the audience also makes it vise versa

Believe this was studio recorded with crowd noise added , that’s why there’s no live video, hence the name frampton COMES alive

No, totally live. This is the closing song of this concert. In fact, he was sick with the flu that night. Totally amazing performance, timeless indeed!

Brings back memories yes he was using the waa was thing, this live version was the best, and I will refuse to pick one great iconic rock anthem over the other( stairway to heaven ) because it's cruel and unfair to my fragile pydhic.
@joerenaud82923 жыл бұрын
I'd pick this song over Stairway because it's far more dynamic with the on the spot creativity and overall groove to this song.
