for anyone wondering why this song just happens to suck every time he does it live there is a reason for it. It is a very challenging song to perform live with all the vocals and instruments.

The studio recording/video was fantastic. This one has limitations. Yeah you're right.

I prefer this over to the ones where they did playback or the audio engineer over did the post mixing/master, I mean I personally watch a live performance video so I can get this amount of raw

Yeah it sounds like a struggle....

And I think Peter was a bit tired here.
@paulharrisonadventuregearm54576 ай бұрын
No he didn't struggle... Peter rarely does the studio tracks they were on the record as that wouldn't allow his musicians to shine live. The studio version is the simplistic version for small pop minds

The rest of us have been acknowledging Tony Levin for 40 years. Where you been?

Tony is responsible for so many amazing bass lines

Any intermediate and above fan of Peter Gabriel acknowledges the genius of Tony Levin: he has a very storied career, even without Gabriel. Dude was an honorary member of Yes and also has history with the likes of King Crimson, among many other musical talents.
@dbsti30062 жыл бұрын
We already know who Tony Levin is. The drummer is the unrecognized one. Manu Katché deserves recognition.
@nickavenoso78512 жыл бұрын
@@bernlin2000 Tony Levin was not a part of Yes. Chris Squire was the bassist of Yes until his death in 2015. Tony was a part of King Crimson though.

The band actually sounds great but the live recording is unbalanced thus you can't hear have the instruments. Plus the studio versions has a 1000 parts overdubbed and duplicated - he would have needed 15 band members to even come close

Just in time for Labor Day! Did your Mother incorporate any of Mr. Gabriel's Dance moves, into her "giving Birth, to Overnight Drive", delivery routine? My favorite, was/is the "Umbilical Cord Swing" (2:30-2:40) and the "Let Go Of My Leg, Baby" Lambada (2:48-2:58). The "Jump, Up and Down, With a Juvenile" Jive, was quite memorgabriel, as well, what with the lingering Dents, in the Head and all. Momgum Umbilical Cords have a hell of a recoil, on 'em. It pains me to Type the Letters, which follow the next ".", as there is a Dent, right on the "remembering Holidays" portion, of my Skull and it smarts, yet, lacks smarts, a bit. Happy Paperlate. Labor Day, that is. Remember "Dent My Head, Please." (Lita Ford.) I, do not.
