Whilst I breathe he still lives ✊💚✊ I'm Irish and a lifelong Sínn Fein supporter and proud to call Nelson Mandela, Madiba Ma-di-ba Madiba We've always fought with the ANC and we are forever grateful to have our leader Gerry Adams be his guard of honour at his funeral. We have shed blood together against tyranny. When we cry for freedom we shout, Biko, Biko because Biko. Without the help of the ANC we would still be fighting the fascist Brits and their death squads roaming our land. ( Gó raibh míle amaith agút 💚 100,000 thank yous ) Long Live our Republic's 🇮🇪💚 🇿🇦 I still remain committed to a better, fairer, reunited Ireland with economic liberty for all. Together we're Better ✊💚✊ Ireland unfree shall never be at peace. SAOIRSE IRELAND 🇮🇪💚☘️🧚🌈

The song “Biko,” a tribute to the murdered South African human rights activist Stephen Biko, marked a turning point in Gabriel’s career. For the first time, he directly addressed political and social issues - in this instance, the struggle against the apartheid system of racial segregation in South Africa. Gabriel had long admired the work of African and Middle Eastern musicians, and his own music increasingly reflected their influence. 5:35 [Academy Of Achievement]

Gabriel has also been involved in numerous humanitarian efforts. In 1980, he released the anti-apartheid single Biko. He has participated in several human rights benefit concerts, including Amnesty International’s Human Rights Now! tour in 1988, and co-founded the Witness human rights organisation in 1992. Gabriel developed The Elders with Richard Branson, which was launched by Nelson Mandela in 2007. [London Speaker Bureau] 6:07

Me too. I'm also handicapped now and can't travel to his shows. When I first saw him on his solo tour after leaving Genesis, it cost me a whole 50pennies back then in the mid-70's. It was all of my pocket money for the week but by gosh, he was worth it a hundred times over. I've seen Peter often enough over the years and I am always amazed with his creativity andolder songs also still sound ans feel so new. God bless you and your work, Peter xo

I've loved this song since I first heard it in the early '80s. I simply can't fathom why the audience is just staying sitting down after around 5:20... What is wrong with people? Stand up and sing and shout the song!!! We did much better when I was young... At the same time as those lazy idiots in the audience...............
