I have listened to this composition for the first time. Tragical and so beautiful as usual Hammil's music...♥

Can we expect a remastered copy one of these days? Around minute 13:00, the choirs suffer seriously from the bad sound, they are confined and quickly saturate, while this majestic passage requires a maximum of space.

Still got the tape of this, Hammill has had an amazing output over the years.

As with most great artists, he revisits themes and reworks them into new and different works!

For those interested, the segment at the 8:30 break was also used in Fall of the House of Usher, in a rather different context (and with lyrics!), I always thought it showed the continuity of PH's musical ideas.

I'm surprised that despite all these revealing pictures, he didn't flash anyone in the process, that's quite impressive

whoa, this must be from one of the FEW albums I don't have (or haven't listened close enough to). Research is on ! EDIT - research reveals - "Loops and Reels is an album by Peter Hammill, originally released on cassette on the Sofa Sound label (catalog number SS4) in June 1983." Don't think I have it but I have heard OF it.

"Loops and Reels " is so insane an album :-) But it contains "The Ritual Mask" and "Moebius Loop" (or am i misquoting the entitlement of the song?) + this wonderful track. I remember how happy i had been feeling when i brought a cassette with this album home and how my face expression began to change to perplexed - shifting from one song to next..... Luckily, eventually "My Pulse" started to play and i breathed out in relief. Since then, the melody of this track often haunts me and plays in my mind. i think this is a legendary track. Hello from Ukraine.

Released at the same time as Time Vaults, (also only on cassette),outtakes of VDGG sessions. Has a version of The Black Room and a good song called Roncevaux.

I like this! It's kind of a re-working of "The Comet, the Course and the Tail," don't you think?
