But in any case, the US Anglican church *does* have vicars, as well as rectors... both are types of parish priest/pastor. Not as common because the nomenclature between various denominations in the US is much more blurred ('pastor' and 'priest' being the most common). But American vicars do exist!

There is 2 parts to the the Church of England, high and low, in low church they are Vicars, in high church they are priests, are called father and take confession, it is hard to see the difference between high church and Catholicism.

Part of this works by priming. Human memory works by a series of interconnections. We don't just record whatever we see. So when you make a suggestion, people are queueing those parts of their memory which relate to that thing. Then when you see or hear something similar you make connections. Then everyone opens their eyes and the prof tells everyone to write the word "hair/hare". About 75% of people who saw the rabbit will write HARE, around 25% HAIR. For those with their eyes closed the ratio is reversed. Notice that Peter Kay is saying the "misheard lines" BEFORE playing the music. The audience is hearing what he wants them to hear. If you listened to the music first then had him say his line it would still be funny, but you wouldn't get the same effect.
