What a guy. He was just as nice and down-to-earth as I thought he would be. I watched Hollywood Squares all the time growing up. We'll miss you Peter. Lovely man.

Marshall was a class act and among the last of his generation of great talents and great emcees.( I think that leaves the now retired Sajak, Chuck Woolery and Bob Eubanks left) and another master of an era of real entertainment that humanity will never see again.

Key point. He was usually laughing the hardest at the square's jokes. That sets the whole dynamic and not many hosts did that

I grew up watching Hollywood squares. I am such a fan. The incarnations that came afterwards were never as good although I did love it when John Davidson was the host and Joan Rivers was in the center Square. But there's no game show that beats the Hollywood squares for fun, lighthearted laughs, and a good time. Plus you learned something. This day I still watched the Hollywood squares on KZbin, going all the way back to 1971. It's also a lot of fun to see all the old stars that I remember growing up with back in the day when comedy was still funny. Also I read Peter Marshall's book and I enjoyed it immensely. He really gives you a lot of insight into behind the scenes of the Hollywood squares and he talks a lot about the different stars especially the ones that were his friends.it's a great read.

Hollywood Squares is one of my favorite game shows. When Game Show Network aired this great program, I was in heaven! I ordered dvds from a company that burned the (mostly)syndicated version to dvd.Sadly my stepfather dumped the disc's out, which I wasn't too happy about.Hopefully Buzzr will get their hands on these episodes.

He was the perfect host for the Hollywood Squares, and he set up the stars beautifully. Of course all of jokes from the stars were scripted, and when Lynde or Weaver got off a good one he'd let it sit there so that the joke had it's full effect. Not every host could do that, and he seemed to genuinely be having fun. Peter is the last of the game show hosts of that 60-70's era....98 years young.

I liked the Squares when Marshall hosted. Like he said, it was a game with humor not the opposite. The versions that came after seemed bogged down and the celebs they brought in were scraping the barrel. As far as the celeb run-ins Peter had: More than one guest star had issues with Lucy on her show and John Wayne on his sets-- they were driving tyrants who let everyone know it's about them and their guests couldn't wait to get away from them. Dan Rowan was a jealous and suspicious guy, but made a good straight man. In the end, there are some celebrities I'm told you never want to meet in person.

Peter Marshall Died at 98 years yet some say that women don't date short men because they live longer then tall men so they expect for short men to be 68 years to start dating some people's excuses can be seen very well
