Ashley Scott nobody was asking her to force an engagement. that would be like comparing it to cassie/colton where she just wasn’t ready for an engagement but they were otherwise compatible and loved each other. it’s the fact that not only did madi say she doesn’t love her son but they are also wildly incompatible so barb probably saw that even if they tried to work things out post bachelor things probably wouldn’t work. madi realized that too and voluntarily left shortly after. chris harrison also said that ATFR is where madi found out the true extent of barb’s disdain for her so i don’t think barb is the reason she left.

During the home visit Madi was not warm or overly connecting with the family. If she is a virgin or whatever and the mom knows her son is not the mom was just being real and honest. Maddie didn't say that she loved him to the mom but Hannah did. I somewhat understand Mom's side . Even tonight Nadi was not attempting to win over mom. This relationship is doomed

His mom needs to speak for herself. She kept saying my husband, the whole family, and friends, when she tried to make a point. Why does she have to drag other people into this? She can’t even let her poor husband give his opinion, other than herself. This is a big ego and selfishness. I just wonder where the compromise in her own marriage is; it seems like she is just the controller of her own marriage.She was so negative toward Madison and judged her cause she had her standards and morals. I guess she wanted someone to be subjugated under her son’s fleshy desires. That is a real disappointment. That was very awkward vibe for Maddy. If I were Maddy, I would have called it all quits.

See Barb is right that there are lots of differences between them but going so far as to say “he’s gonna have to fail to succeed” is heart breaking and honestly annoying. Because then it isn’t about him and his heart and his relationship, it’s about proving his mom right or wrong. You don’t have to agree with his choice but at least respect it and know that it is his own.

That Madison has even tried to package the vitriol against her as clapback on her "morals & values" is SO disingenuous, it's ridiculous. The fact is, Madison had ALL season to communicate her standards, expectations, virginity, religious beliefs, etc. but instead, waited until the 11th hour. Further, she 100% knew what the show was about & where it was headed. It was her last-minute edicts that threw everything into a tailspin for all remaining parties.
