Thanks again. I remember PS as 'Chance' the gardener in 'Being There', and also in 'The wrong box' as Doctor Pratt, which has his flat filled with furry lickle kitties. Also it starred Michael Caine, John Mills, Nanette Newman, Peter Cook and Dudley Moore.

Another enjoyable video, thank you for doing these, and hopefully many more to come. Indeed Peter lived what seemed a complicated life, but it brought him success on the work he did which was loved by many.. personally and like most others (probably) we knew him from the Pink Panther role, and then what a great animated series after that it became.. I said to my partner before your video started that ‘Alan will at some stage in the vid will either sing or hum the theme tune’ you didn’t disappoint my friend. Well done mate Tim

Hello Tim, that's really kind of to say that you enjoy the films I do find it super interesting to look at these. Apparently successful people then you see behind the scenes when you do the research. It is very well documented of his trouble lifestyle but we had the happiness. And regarding the singing, if I had burst into song and not just hummed It would have been an all different ball game........ I guarantee the viewer fall off point for my video into Oblivion would have been that moment. All the best of both of you.

The funniest thing I saw was an outtake when Peter Sellars and two or three others entered a lift. Peter had the idea that one of them made the sound of breaking wind. They would all then look at each other to find the culprit. They couldn't get the timing right so the director (I think) said to make the noise when he said "Now". They all became totally hysterical with laughter that in the end they had to abandon the take. A lovely memory.
@MotorHomeBeepBeep

Hello Avril, I remember that very well to get the timing now. It was the word now but it just became hysterical for Peter and the rest of them. Very very funny. I think it's still see on KZbin. Sometimes people used to ludacris things and it's so funny 🤣

@@MotorHomeBeepBeep When I was about six a small group of us got the hysterical giggles in class. The young teacher couldn't calm us down so sent for the headmistress. She stood there, arms folded as we fought to stop laughing. Then she said the fatal words, "I'm waiting". This was our trigger and we were off giggling hysterically again. Even today if someone says that in the same sort of tone I start laughing again.

An absolute genius. But sometimes these people are such perfectionists that they destroy their own lives and those around them. I cried laughing at his PP films and the late Herbert Lom was such a magnificent foil for him. I'm sure I read somewhere that Peter was part of the late Princess Margaret's circle. She was a mimic of some note herself, I believe, so they'd have been twin souls. RIP Peter.

Another goodun' Alan, it's so weird that so many of our screen hero's don't seem to have it together (at all) in their private lives, almost to the point where it sometimes appears to be mandatory in order to achieve the heights they reach. I often wonder if it's show business that causes it, or they need to be a little out of social kilter to start with to succeed in the strange world of fame. Another interesting one Alan, thanks, they just get better with each one, but beware, don't let the fame & fortune corrupt you my friend, Lol! Final point, how about John Thaw?

I only discovered the comedy 🎭 of Peter Sellers, when I saw the film 🎞 “Revenge of the Pink Panther.” I thought it was hilarious 😂🤣 I am too young to remember “ The Goon Show.” So, I only discovered the wonderful Comedy talent of Peter Sellers after he died... in all those incredible Ealing Comedies, and the other Pink Panther Films 🎥 Britt Ekland explained, in the reality series “The Real Marigold Hotel,” there was no private side to Peter Sellers, and he would probably be diagnosed with Bipolar disorder today. I have read articles where he appears to be quite cruel to members of his own Family!! I just like to remember him as a comedy genius, who died way too young. 💐

A big fan of Peter Sellers. Loved The Goon Show and the Pink Panther films. However, for me, ‘The Party’ is by far the funniest of them all! This film seems to have slipped into obscurity but get hold of a copy on DVD, settle into a comfy chair and prepare to laugh your socks off! You got his death age wrong Alan, he was 55 not 40, I thought that sounded a little young!

Dr Strangelove "Gentlemen, Gentlemen you can`t fight in here it`s the war room" and the actor playing the Russian Ambassador trying not laugh at Strangeloves nazi salutes. I watch the outtakes from the Pink Panther films, they are a scream. A genius in films, but sadly not with his marriages and children.

Comic genius. But like all Jews without Judaism ends up without a proper grave.

Blimey, such a small marker and not a headstone 🫤🤷🏻‍♀️ My Dad was a session flautist and they couldn't get through the recording of the PP films as the orchestra were laughing too much at the film playing in the background

Em I'm super interesting. It would have made the job quite a pleasant task. I'd like the producer was angry with the lost time though 🤣
