Peter Sprague Plays “Anything Goes” featuring Rebecca Jade

We were right in the middle of releasing our “Planet Cole Porter” album and on a few of the concerts we needed more music. It turns out it’s easy to find cool Cole Porter songs as there are so many great ones to choose from. Both Rebecca and I thought that “Anything Goes” would be a good addition so I set out to do some twists and turns to this clever little ditty. What classic lyrics!
Rebecca scats a chorus, Tripp scoots along, the rhythm section holds steady, and I get to spin some lines. Good fun with sound.

Oooohhh, that voice. Hi, Pete! I'm missing all the things of yours I never heard; and this makes it all ok for the moment. Easy goin' like when you've just come in from a long exuberant surf session. Ya know we once did a suite of ballet dances to Cole Porter, archly capturing some of his takes, but I like your, and Rebecca's excision of all the referential rhetoric, except the undressed i like . . . And, Oooohhh, that voice!
