Robert F. Kennedy Jr @RobertKennedyJr President Trump campaigned in 2016 on draining the swamp, but instead he appointed a pharmaceutical lobbyist and CEO to run the Health and Human Services Department, a Verizon lobbyist to run the Federal Communications Commission, a former Goldman Sachs CIO to run the Treasury Department, an oil CEO to run the Interior Department, a coal lobbyist to run the Environmental Protection Agency, and so on. Now, President Trump is deliberating between Larry Fink, CEO of BlackRock, and Jamie Dimon, CEO of JP Morgan Chase, as his next Treasury Secretary, should he win the election. In other words, more swamp creatures. There's words, and then there's actions... and when it comes to Trump, they simply don't match.

@@Ronin.97 Yes he was one of the founders, but he doesn't run the company. I was there for 15 years, I think he showed up at the office once to give a little speech. He was busy making billions elsewhere. If your vision of him is some Bond villain in dark room filled with cigar smoke, computer screens and a lot of laughs, think instead more of really rich people in beautiful homes in LA and Miami having lovely parties talking about fascinating issues. There's no surveillance being done here by PT. I wouldn't worry about the government spying on you either, unless you are worthy of being spied upon. No sir, your biggest fear should be precisely where you are reading this right now. Google, Facebook, and Twitter (and all of their assorted platforms) are the greatest collection of open source intelligence in the world, and the data is provided by we the people. Furthermore, corporations like Google, Facebook, Apple, and Twitter make up their own rules for data governance (to be fair to Apple, they value privacy highly). The US government, in comparison, has rules to follow that are enforced by law. Palantir does not buy, create, own, or sell data. It simply provides software that customers then use with their own data. Anyway, back to Peter: I wouldn't worry too much about him, he barely knows what Palantir even does.

This interview seems like a PR stunt to make him more appealing to people now that his name is getting brought up a lot more due to his connection to Vance. Palantir is truly diabolical…more people need to know what’s going on with the company and it’s technology. I lived in New Orleans for a long time where they have a city-wide Palantir mass surveillance system. It’s terrifying…cameras sometimes on every other block that can span the length of 3 football fields, and 24/7 data being collected for close to a decade now by Palantir that nobody knows what they’re doing with. L.A. is the same…and more cities in the U.S.

Weird. I think it's about time to drop the "Well, joes joe but he's a good interviewer at least" mindset a lot of us who liked Joe back 10 years ago were still holding on to. He's not a good interviewer. This was a complete waste of time. A few months ago we got to sit through Terrence Howard spewing absolute smooth brain mental illness BS to no argument. This claim is erroneous. Please do some research on monetary economics. The number 1 issue is no definite correlation between the two values. You see very high correlation to the Russian ruble and oil prices. Same with Saudi dollar. Same with many others. Keep coming up with strange quasi economics if you’d like, but the US dollar is a DebtDollar. Every dollar is associated with a dollar of debt, not any amount of oil. Nixon did not end the gold-backed for the oil-backed. Oil was more useful. We did not have any conception of a small battery for complex consumer electronics. Oil reserves were also being discovered due to innovations in the sector- partially driven by the embargo driving up the price.
@chhayllim9438
@chhayllim9438 24 күн бұрын
@@Bailey_iQ pls don't call names like quasi economics. You only ridicule yourself by doing it. Basic economics states that when demand of a currency increases, the price of that currency tend to increase or stays strong. Oil purchases over the world started to be done in USD. World usage of oil is high and it happens all over the world allowing the USD to stay/become the main subjective unit of value for international trade. No need for gold settlement anymore. No worries about trade deficit and gold shortages. Just change the USD bill to in God we trust instead of redeemable by gold. About nuclear energy being suppressed because of this, who knows. It could be as it makes sense. But i doubt anyone has definitive proof for this. Even so, it leaves space for speculation allowing us to understand historical events better.

As a nuclear engineer, I can say Peter is fairly incorrect about nuclear in terms of the dual use problem from the in country perspective. The problem was purely economics, why spend billions developing nuclear into a cheaper energy source when natural gas is dirt cheap. Once we start building more plants at scale and rebuilding supply chains the cost will come back down, the modular reactors may be cheaper maybe* but it’s unproven as of yet. I think standardize designs at large scale with more standard industry off the shelf products will also bring it down. (Separation of the nuclear island and the energy conversion side) The overegulation was definitely a problem but industry and government are moving more towards a probabilistic risk assessment as opposed to the overblown approach (Advance Act) . Even the linear no threshold model for radiation risk of inducing cancer is finally being revised due to its extreme approach in terms of dose. LNT basically says falling 10 times off a 1 ft length is equivalent to falling once at 10 ft. The body is very capable of dealing with absorbed rad dose in increments. What you don’t want is acute exposure. Next gen nuclear will be stupid safe. Complete with walk away safe reactors, reactors that eat high level waste, liquid fuel reactors, high temperature reactors for industrial use, increase fuel burn up. However, current gen nuclear are stupid safe as well already. Nuclear today is the safest power generation except for maybe hydro by the numbers.
@TheNeufin8tor
@TheNeufin8tor 3 ай бұрын
Interesting insight. Thank you. In your opinion is there a profit incentive to stay away from nuclear? For example, the entities that control current energy sources can make more profit where we are now vs nuclear.

@cristiangarza7791
@cristiangarza7791 3 ай бұрын
@@TheNeufin8tor well a natural gas plant can pay back 2 billion initial capital investment much faster , than a nuke plant that cost 10-15 billion and takes way longer to build. A nuke plant that last 50-100 years will generate more profit but investors are looking at making they’re money back asap. Investors aren’t malicious but they want to make money back fast. If we could drop the cost of nuclear by half it still would not compete with natural gas. People don’t understand how efficient fracking is in extracting natural gas. Also lots of new natural gas plants have combined gas cycles that can reach upwards of 60% thermal efficiency, which just means more power extracted for the same amount of fuel (not a big deal, nuclear energy density is far higher and produces less overall life waste) but for a natural gas plant where the fuel is the main expense it’s a big deal for investors. Nuclear Industry really needs good project managers to keep these projects on track and on budget. I personally think the US will produce the best designs but it’s looking like the South Koreans are gonna be the leaders in the actual construction.

As a fellow German you can guess that he probably thought very deeply about how to make human experiments more human. There is indeed a deep cruelty in letting someone who suffers participate in a trial in away that does not help them and let them continue to suffer without knowing. It is complicated because at the same time we also know the moment a person KNOWS they receive help their mental help starts to improve a little bit (well, not in schizophrenia or mania or alike, but in things like PTSD etc) because part of PTSD is the overwhelming experience of being powerless in situations of great horror. I ask myself a lot how useful a lot of animal experiments are. A lot of them are unnecessary, don't make sense and the level of cruelty and the whole setting in which they are tested don't justify the small outcomes. The MKUltra thing was much bigger. It makes sense in the sense also of imitation. We can see that today how well that works. Especially modeling a mind in a way that is useful. Some MK Ultra victims actually "survived" the brain wash, basically reacted like people who were victims of a totalitarian regime and what I always found most interesting about it is how far these studies have gone in terms of playing the mind like chess. Meaning instead of programing a mind for something very straightforward- but to create a wanted aversion because they know the moment the mind actually switches against the information and this to be the actually wanted course of development. What some studies found is the people who survived the concentration camps, mentally, to a better degree where those who had a rich fantasy to cope with the reality they were dealing with. It's the same with the book Lord of the rings. It was basically Tolkiens way to deal with the nature of War. I don't know if you can still find them but there are a few interviews with holocaust survivors where they say imaging a different world is what kept them sane.

So I just got a call from one from a startup backed by Peter…. “Has your team written any User Stories” “No” “ Wait when did you guys start” “Almost 2 years, but we just got a Product Guy 3 months ago” Peter who does your Due Diligence? Jesus, I’ve been called in the past by Investors to save startups before they go down…. I have a particular set of skills.

No one is blaming poor people for anything. Left-wing corporate money ruined San Francisco and its politics, thank Google and Apple etc. Peter is in many ways opposed to the leftist tech money that has shaped and ruined politics in California.
