@elizabethhann40289 ай бұрын
@@onahgodwin4878 It is. But it's a *good* punchline. I mean to say it's *apt* as well as funny. Goodness knows Tosh was *not* on his best form here (please see what I wrote about this interview) and I found his criticism of silly love songs to be rather *too* harsh (I'm rather fond of silly love songs myself). But even I don't love every silly love song that comes down the pike, and Tosh's words - however vicious they were - serve as necessary criticism of the glurgey gloop that too often (circa '86, when this interview was filmed, and right now, too) passes for sweet songs of love, on Black radio as well as on the wh!te-bread Top 40.

The best pieces ever sung by Bob Marley were written by Peter Tosh and the original wailers. Bob just continued singing Peter Tosh's songs like No woman no cry, Get Up Stand UP, Trenchtown Rock, etc... Peter Tosh was such a nice guy and he loved Bob even after he betrayed him, for Babylon. Legally Peter Tosh could have sued Bob Marley in court but he didn't do it. Imagine if Peter Tosh and Bob were still in the same group and still alive!
@RocStone4 жыл бұрын
so what about Bob's 7 other albums that peter wasn't a part of? raaaasbloodclaaat...!!!! Bob couldn't be touched by any songwriter because his best pieces were written by him, but Peter stood his own...also if you didn't know Bob bailed Peter on several occasions and helped Peter out behind the scenes where no one knows... know your history.. in spite of what the general public thinks, friends have disagreements but they remained friends, get it right bumboclaat!!!

Total nonsense! There's no evidence whatsoever that songs like the ones you mentioned (except for one of third of "Get up stand up" which was a joint effort indeed) were written by Tosh. On the contrary, Tosh has been sued by Joe Higgs for recording & unrightully taking the credits for "Stepping razor", written by Higgs. And why exactly did Marley betray Tosh? After all, it was Tosh who left the group because he wantd to be in the spotlight too.
