His voice is just so perfect for Robocop. I can't even describe what his voice sounds like, but it's a perfect "character" voice. If I had to describe it, it's the "90's Superhero Voice". TV Guy here: This was back when Pro video cameras were expensive. Like mid range car expensive. After taping the subject, the one and only camera is "turned around" and the interviewer pretends to ask the questions. Then they are cut together and the audience is fooled. The camera also had to be manually white balanced, which is what the white paper at 8:58 is all about. The viewfinder on the camera was black and white and a colour monitor would be a big deal. So, like the angst of waiting for film from the lab, it was a relief to see the colours come back correct in the edit bay. Oh, it was wild and woolly back in the days of analogue...
@endrizo8 ай бұрын

@badad01667 ай бұрын
@@endrizo Can't say. It looks better than 3/4 inch Umatic (and VHS is also Umatic "colour under" for the record, just less real estate per frame). I'm not sure if Betacam had happened just yet, but that's a fair bet. First gen Betacam, not SP or DigiBeta, which came later. But the cost was insane compared to today, especially if it was 1": reel to reel. I was around for the end of 2 inch through 1 inch (helical scan made for one line per drum rotation, vs. 4 zones on a 2" rig). Once the sealed cassette Betacam came around, tape ops could be monkeys...(Betamax is the weak consumer level slow playing cousin of the professional level BetaCam family...)

I'm surprised he didn't tell her where to go, when they started re-phrasing her questions, after the actual interview was over. I've seen her doing that in another behind the scenes interview. I wouldn't trust anything that news company produces, because they obviously change things to suit themselves and they could manipulate things to make it seem like the person being interviewed had said things in a completely different context to what they actually said. It's like that scene in The Running Man, where they used the helicopter security video and made it to seem like Arnold's character had said things completely opposite to how the character said it in the original context.
