I’ve learnt the hard way that even though we’re not finishing all the task in our days, it’s not the end of the world, and the fact we’re doing these things is already a winning. Instead of stressing ourselves out, we also deserve the rest, even some procrastination. No one can be 100% productive, every single day!

Love this! Thank you! I have tasks/habits that I need to do every night before bed, and every night I have to stop and think about if I've done them all or if I've forgotten something important. The daily tasks would be a perfect reminder for me, just something to look at before bed so that I don't have to stop and think about it so hard, or worry that I've forgotten something. I do struggle with executive dysfunction, though.

Option click to have something x’ed out but not necessarily completed was worth the price of admission. Thanks for the tip!

Another possibility, perhaps you could use a second simpler task manager, maybe Apple reminders, for those habits you want to remember to do so you can reserve Things 3 for more serious task planning.

Hi Peter Thank you for posting your videos and tips on using Things 3 more effectively. I’ve learned a lot from them. I’m using the repeating to-do checklist technique to remind me of the recommended steps for the GTD daily review while establishing the habit. I only have a single MacBook screen, and I find it clunky to keep flicking back and forth between my daily review to-do checklist and the other lists in Things as I execute the five review steps. My solution to this has been to tile two Things windows, but I’m not a fan of full-screen. Can you suggest any other ways?

Great video! Thank you so much. Wondering how you get those icons after your items (the money, for example, after "Admin & Finances"?

How would you organise recurring tasks, e.g. tasks that occur daily, weekly, monthly, etc.? Directly in the area?

Thank you for your informative videos. I have a question I appreciate if you could answer. How can I sort my tasks by time in each day in Upcoming view? I have synced my iCalendar with Things, so Things show every event of my iCalendar like this for example -> 09:30 Mathematics -> it shows first time then task name, but none of the tasks I have created in Things has been shown this way, when I set a "when" or "deadline" it only shows a bell icon, but I really want them to also show the time first. Is it possible?
@PeterAkkies2 жыл бұрын
The bell icon just means you’ve set a reminder on those tasks. Reminders are just about notifications-they don’t actually *schedule* the task for a specific time in Things. So unfortunately, you cannot do what you’d like to do.

I don’t get the anytime area what’s the point of that?
@PeterAkkies4 жыл бұрын
Hey Kimberly. It’s a list of tasks that make sense to work on “anytime”, or another way to think about it, “right now”. They are tasks that you haven’t postponed for “someday” and that you haven’t already assigned to a specific future date. You can use the Anytime view to plan your day. The Anytime view shows all tasks and projects that it makes sense to work on, so you can select a few, set those selected tasks to Today, and get going. If you’d like to learn more about this, I recommend my course Organize Your Life with Things 3: peterakkies.net/courses - Peter
