Well I bough myself a 379 a week ago and I'm about to start fixing it up so I can put it to work. Really looking forward to more Peterbilt content for motivation! I can't afford all the fancy stuff yet but it's sure nice to dream! I'm still not doing too bad with a 379 as my first truck, and the best part is that its not an autoshift!

Hey Greg use a cutoff wheel from inside split the river and knock out with a punch works great much faster than drilling

That big ol yellow engine just does something to me....... I drove a 1984 CL 9000 Ford with a 425 Cat and 13 speed for a couple years in my logging days and always enjoyed it. Wouldn't go very fast but sure pulled good.

In my experience , cheap 20 guage metal strapping with adjustable holes works great for bolt in cross bracing to keep cab in a ball park shape . When the top comes off , everything goes wherever it chooses to . Causes a mell-of-a-hess , especially when doors are open . 😨👍♥️🇺🇸 Life lessons 🤣😉

Hey man i would advise using oil to cool and lubricate the drill bits. Just get some multi use oil from a hardware store or at minimum some wd40. It will keep the drill bits sharp and last much longer

if you dont ever plan on taking the flat top off why not just seam seal it on and fill the out side edges with filler and paint it for a flush mount with no hardware

If you cut the collars on the back of the huck in half they pop right off and you dont damage anything. Takes like 10 seconds

They make a kit to turn a 13 into a fake 2 or 3 stick one stick for trans the other two work air valves for the spilt

Why is there a clutch pedal qhen its an auto? Or does it require clutch for take off and then the auto kicks in?

These things don't have torque converters. just a clutch for stopping and taking off after that the solenoids do the shifting. You can actually put a shifter on the top of that transmission to convert it back to manual

Should've used a belt grinder and taken the collars down. That's how we remove roof caps when they need to be used again.
