When you’re empty, don’t waste time splitting all the high end till you get to the last gear. Drive it like a 9 double over.

Mastering the downshifting and, up shifting with the splitting is one of the funnest, greatest thing I have ever learned in trucking, and only in a pete.
@JJubbs13 жыл бұрын
Greg, you can shift the 18 speed like an 8 speed if you want. If you want to split the gears to get all 18, just remember that the pause you take is shorter when you are splitting. For example, when you are up-shifting, normally you would pause for a half second in between gears for the RPMs to drop before you shift up. If you split from a high gear to low gear, you don’t have to pause because the RPMs don’t need to drop as much. Say you are in 5 high (12) and you want to shift to 6 low (13), just hit your splitter into low and throw the stick down, no pause between gears. Hopefully this helps.

12:44 is when the learning start and the figuring out what to do and 13:00 is when you start piecing everything together and the concentration on his face is pretty good.. 10 speed is pretty simple to shift once you learn it but when you are dealing with 12-18 speed its a little different the only thing added in is the high and low range that comes in to play. But hey, you learning as you go. Awesome work on the Transmission Swap and driving it out of their.

@ansonhackett97913 жыл бұрын
@@chevyon37s Well for one i dont see any dot numbers on the truck nor do i think greg is planning to start a trucking business, therefor it is not a commercial vehicle, making your argument invalid. but regardless I and many other guys do run dark tint on our rigs. I even know a guy with 30% on the shield of his truck. all depends on if your willing to deal with the occasional ticket or hassle.
@chevyon37s3 жыл бұрын
@@ansonhackett9791 he’s using the truck to make money on KZbin... therefore it’s a commercial truck wether he admits it or not. also if it ever tows 10,001lbs or more it’s commercial. Also I believe he’s got it registered for more than 26,000lb GVWR so also commercial in that aspect. Even if he jumps the hoops of it not being a commercial vehicle, it being a vehicle that it’s intended use is commercial and 99% of the same vehicles actual use being a commercial vehicle he’ll likely get pulled over by DOT regardless. Even in a perfect world where it isn’t a CMV, 5% tint is pretty much illegal in every state at least on front windows sooo.... it’s just not worth the hassle to me since the risk of actually getting pulled over and ticketed for are much higher. I’ve ran 5%, had it read 3% on MSHP’s meter.
