Peterbilt 379 Trucking Into A Light Thunderstorm!

Come along as I take a stroll through Orillia Ontario, and driving into a thunderstorm. I'm a big fan of thunderstorms (except that I have to wash the truck after) and it's just coming into storm season, so I'm excited!
Also I appologize for the video being shot in 24fps instead of my regular 60fps! Everything looks so choppy in comparison it drives me nuts!! Haha.

Brought back memories of a 69 Pete 379 narrow nose, 335 Cummins 5&4 speed I drove in the 70's doing emergency storm work. I'd put RainX on all the widows and mirrors as I was in lots of rain and the wipers and defrosters back then sucked.The stuff really gives you an edge.

@@callthemall I used to put it on every time I washed the windows in the rainy season and on the mirrors it great.... your not looking through drops of water. Cool videos by the way. My last truck a KW had a C15.... loved that engine. Be safe.

Great video! I like driving in the rain sometimes, then again other times you don't have much of a choice. That was very professional slowing down & pulling over for the emergency vehicle. It's nice to see 4 wheelers using that light as a 4 way stop, I know it's the law but people don't follow the rules a lot of places that I've been to across the states. I love the view looking out over the big hood on that Peterbilt or any longnose hood truck. Spoke at ya later.

Thank you so much for making these videos. I can't get enough of them. If there's a way to make them longer I would definitely watch them and I'm pretty sure that's the same for others like me that are doing driver training. Even if maybe the 24fps helps with file size or rendering time or whatever. For me this is definitely smooth enough quality. I've learned a bunch from just watching your driving style. The truck noise videos are awesome. The talking videos are great to, I think you have a lot to offer us as a teacher. But , yeah... I just wanted to offer some more encouragement. Whatever style videos you make, they will be great.

I love thunderstorms as well, unfortunately out here in the Netherlands we barely get to see one, not even the little ones, two years back was the last big one, is that a unsynchronized manual transmission ?

Yeah here in Ontario Canada we’re surrounded by two big lakes so we get a lot of late afternoon humid thunderstorms, they’re nice every once in a while. And yes unsynchronized 18 speed transmission.

@@callthemall that's nice, in the Netherlands we got the North sea but on the part where the Netherlands is it's too small to produce storms like that, we only get storms when we have NW winds or NE winds, Alright, that's awesome, we don't have those transmissions over here, over here it's or synchronized or automatic or some brands only automatic, do they still build those transmissions in like 2020 trucks?

@@jordanwright6078 Wow, thats awesome, so I assume you still learn to drive in one in driving school, sometimes I wish we would still have a lot of manual transmissions like that, but on the other hand the automatics are way better and faster and way more fuel efficient than a manual, and they know even better how to shift the truck then you do and especially the Volvo or scania transmissions because they're so incredibly Silent, but it's nice to hear they're still making those transmissions that need a professional driver.

@@truckingwithwim8039 im pretty sure most driving schools teach on automatics alot of new drivers around here have dont drive manuals because they never learned, but yes the autos are nice, work for freightliner so i do some work on the detroit DT12 automated manauls and they shift very nice
