I learnt to ride on the Step On X’s, definitely not an easy time initially, but love the response. I have the Genesis ReFlex, Step On X and Genesis EST out for delivery. I hope Burton release a Step On X EST next year!

Could you do a video of how to do a correct maintenance of the step on bindings?
@PeterGlennSports
@PeterGlennSports 2 ай бұрын
We don't have that planned at the moment but I'll keep that in mind for the future. If you need maintenance done ASAP you can go to your local store and have the technicians check it out.

For a more stable ride and more responsiveness at higher speeds, what would you recommend that is better than step-on bindings? Thanks :)
@PeterGlennSports

I'd recommend looking into traditional high-performance bindings with a solid fit like the Union Force. Or if you wanna stick with Burton you could go for the Cartels or the Genesis

Just got a Burton Deep Thinker with Nitro Darkseid boots (they are so comfortable!) I do love EST so immediately I think Genesis EST, but I mostly Free Ride and like to carve groomers. One of the reasons I got the Deep Thinker was the camber underfoot and how much I enjoy how snappy and poppy it is edge to edge. Is the Genesis EST too soft for the steep stuff? Should I go for the X?
@PeterGlennSports
@PeterGlennSports Күн бұрын
X is stiffer, offering more response and power transfer so they're a better choice for aggressive carving and steep terrain. They’ll match the Deep Thinker camber and give you more support for edge-to-edge control on steep stuff.

So I’m between limelight and Felix definitely a beginner rider getting the reflex bindings mainly go to snowboard places to ride snow no rails etc which is better so far only the Felix is really available in my size
@PeterGlennSports
@PeterGlennSports 15 күн бұрын
You don't want to compromise size so go with the Felix

I own the genesis and the x’s. Genesis are smoother feeling fasho, last year I swapped the high backs and rode like that. It’s like a genesis X.

I want to get a new set of bindings, I|m a beginner, and was totally overwhelmed with so many models. Thanks for this very informative video! For the Flex, what boots would you recommend? I prioritize safety over anything else, but as well as the bidnings, don't want to buy something that is not my skill level :v

If you are going with Step On’s then Burton Ruler will be a good fit.
@PeterGlennSports
@PeterGlennSports 2 ай бұрын
For beginners I would go with the Limelight step ons for women or the ruler step ons for men

EST versions are too much compromise. Even if you don't own now a board without channel, maybe you will next year or in the future. I've been using my Cartels for 8 years with boards with and without channel, because I chose the Re:Flex version
@PeterGlennSports
@PeterGlennSports 2 ай бұрын
Everyone can have their own opinion, if you can't feel the difference of running ESTs and Re:Flex in your feet then that is fine maybe you ride a really stiff board and can tell much of the difference. To each their own.

Hey sorry for asking but I’m going to get the Salomon Huck Knife Pro Snowboard 2025 and I was wondering which one would be best for that board if you could help
@PeterGlennSports

The Genesis will be a great jump and park binding for the huck knife.

will the genesis EST binding fit on a capita DOA board?
@PeterGlennSports
@PeterGlennSports 3 күн бұрын
Unfortunately not since the DOA doesn't have the Burton Channel but you can get an adapter for a 4x4 or 2x4 setup

Is the EST version always better than the normal version? I mean, is it always better to have more "response" from the board and feel the board more?
@PeterGlennSports
@PeterGlennSports Ай бұрын
It really comes down to personal preference and what feels best for your riding style. EST bindings are great for riders who prioritize board feel and flex. But if you ride a board with traditional 4x4 or 2x4 mounting patterns or you prefer a bit more stability, the normal version with standard mounting could feel more comfortable

Hey guys, how big of a stiffness jump is there from the reflex to the X? I can imagine that the binding ist stiffer, but when wearing snowboard boots (wich are flexible itself) how much difference is there really you can fell or notice? greetings from germany 👋

Thanks for the question. The X has a baseplate and highback that are 50% nylon/50% Carbon as opposed to the nylon/fiberglass mixes in the other models. Having the carbon makes the bindings lighter, but more importantly quicker reacting edge to edge. If you like a super fast, aggressive feel the X is your binding, if you want a little smoother, easier feel then the Standard or Genesis Step On bindings will be better for you.

5'11, 240lb I ride all mountain, side hits, trees, runs with a a couple runs through the park. Considering the Burton custom open for suggestions here too. But what binding or boot would you recommend? I'm an intermediate rider with a belly thus needing the step on for easier get up and go. Foot size is 11-11.5.

Hi, this year is the one I'm going for step on! I'm intermediate/expert rider, I like to carve and go freeriding when there's fresh snow. Do you have any advice what to choose between Genesis Est or the X ? Thanks !
@PeterGlennSports
@PeterGlennSports Ай бұрын
the Genesis EST is best for you if you wanna carve and freeride. The X is more aggressive and responsive

@@PeterGlennSports i thought you wanted to most stiff and responsive for carving? what is the aggressive responsiveness for then?
@PeterGlennSports
@PeterGlennSports 24 күн бұрын
@@0dteESmini Lol I mis-phrased that. Genesis is still good for carve and freeride but is a little more playful. But yes the X is more aggressive and responsive

Has anyone experienced the high top getting in the way of the clipping in mechanism? I have heard some people constantly catch the flexible bit and end up breaking it.....
@PeterGlennSports
@PeterGlennSports Ай бұрын
If your boot is too stiff or bulky in that area, it can interfere with the binding's locking mechanism, making it harder to get in or potentially causing wear and tear over time. I know some riders have found that adjusting how they approach the Step On system (like angling the boot a certain way when stepping in) is helpful.

@Fleijah
@Fleijah 18 күн бұрын
Do they still have play when clicked in?
@PeterGlennSports
@PeterGlennSports 17 күн бұрын
They're designed to minimize play when you're clicked in, but like any system, there might be a tiny bit of movement, especially when you're just starting out or if the bindings aren't perfectly adjusted. Doesn't mean that they're not secure or responsive, just takes some getting used to

The EST is going to have more board feel under the binding by eliminating the stiff baseplate under your foot.

I’m a low intermediate rider that likes to carve and cruise down easy blues but I like something that can go heel to toe pretty quick. Is the X worth it over the Genesis and RE:Flex? I want something that feels as close to traditional bindings as possible without being unforgiving
@PeterGlennSports
@PeterGlennSports 10 күн бұрын
The Genesis is your best bet. It offers the right balance of response and comfort for your level, perfect for carving and cruising without being too stiff.
