3 people didn't just pick a 4-card overcall, they picked a 2-LEVEL VULNERABLE 4-card overcall. Madness.

On board 3, why did the partner bid spades instead of raising hearts? 🤔

Can you explain board 7 please? I don't think I understand NMF. How did you know to bid 2N or even 3N not knowing you have a heart stop? I thought the correct response was 2D which I played for +2 130 but only 14% because all the 2N and 3N bidders beat me

You should only worry about suits your opponents tell you to worry about. You rarely have stoppers in all suits and it doesn't work to try and explore for them in most situations. With NMF partner is wanting you to explain two things 1) your major length. 2) your strength. For part one do you have 3 card support for their major or do you have 4 in the unbid major if not bid NT. For part 2 are you minimum then bid at the lowest level and if maximum jump a level.

interestingly, on bd 7, with a club opener, not a diamond, opponents lead a heart winner and shift to three club leads -- giving me 2 club winners, 4 diamonds and 4 spades . . . +1 and 100%. Also, bidding in video moved to fast on bd4 . . . I didn't want to bid 4NT, since I assumed partner would respond as if clubs was the suit, not hearts. Couldn't think of anything to do but just jump to 6H.

Keycard in clubs can help you stay out of slam if partner has only one keycard.

On B5 I also bid 5C over 3S, on the basis that if you bid 4C, and they bid 4S, then you're probably going to go 5C anyhow. Does that sort of make sense or is my reasoning faulty? thanks - I learn SO MUCH from these weeklies!..
@darrencotterell74797 ай бұрын
On the last one I raised 3S to 4; 2 off -100 - still better than you did with your dodgy bid lol - like I said last week if you want to see the other tables - click recent tournaments - pick the latest tourney you played and then scroll down to board 8 and click other tables

Board 2 after I bid 6H, my robot partner bid 7C. Board 5 I discarded HJ; on H off dummy, E popped HK for 5C+1.

He was trying to steal the hand. If he can get all of his tricks and there are no ruffs, NT scores better. Oops!

I took quite another route of adventure and overcalled 2 Spades, partner raised to 3, and opener doubled. They decided not to play the 3rd Club round, which resulted in 530!
