Time 5:04, Board no 8 why did not apply blackwood? You had 11hcp, S void = 3 points, 5long hearts = 1 points == 15 points, partner 4clubs jump = C single ton or void with at least 17 points, small slam =33 points so 15+17=32 points,very sad bidding 😥😥😪😪

Why would I blackwood with a void? what would the answer help with?

@@BridgeWithPete so bid 4D or any artificial bid, you should have been try for small slam

You can't just mindlessly add points for shortage and length and be done with it. The void was in partner's spade suit and therefore might be even worse than having 1 or more spades, I'm sure if the void was diamonds it would be a completely different story. He also can't count the QC as points as it is opposite singleton by partner and can't count the 5th heart as that's already been shown. He can't bid 4NT keycard with a void spade so if he was to make slam try the only option would be 4D which is pretty marginal

At 06.40 you opened with 9 HCP with a nice 5/5. Did you miscount or do you usually do this, or is this one of the times when you think it is good in this format only to get some more decisive results.

I think he'd likely normally do this, but it's surprising he didn't mention at the time
