The economy car class has changed. Those seeking true ultimate efficiency have moved to hybrids and electric vehicles, while the small car buy is demanding more from their small car than simply fuel economy, or easy to drive and park vehicles. That's where the Hyundai Venue and Nissan Kicks step in. The two vehicles in this video are each top of the line models, but they go about things in different ways, and one may appeal to you more than the other. See these vehicles in person by connecting with the amazing team at Jim Gilbert's Wheels and Deals here: www.wheelsanddeals.ca/in-dept...

I have a 2019 kicks. The front-wheel drive makes it harder for snow. Yet it does have the wheel control button for that. Trying to go fast to turn, you have to use the S button. It being lower to the ground makes you feel every pothole. Yet literally the best gas mileage! NO trips to mechanic besides regular maintenance. I wish it had a bigger cabin. Yet such a great car!

The Kicks SR Premium has more features, larger cargo and better interior. Plus the SR Premium Kicks has the Bose 8 speaker audio system with driver seat headrest speakers, 360 surround view camera with multiple views and a button to change views from front-back-side, rear automatic braking that works to stop you from backing into anything and works every time as I have tested it for metal fencing, cones, poles, cars and people, heated steering wheel, led headlights but also led fog lights, premium looking and feeling primatex seat material, neatly integrated 8 inch audio touch screen then a neat half digital gauge cluster with a 7 inch screen and display options such as tire pressure-audio playing-digital speedometer-safety features all around the cuv-temp-mpg-distance to empty-tachometer-distance following indicator and more. The Kicks is heavily packed with features and a totally loaded Kicks SR with Premium Package cost almost $26,000.00

I don't know about Canada, but the Limited Venue in the U.S. does not have wireless Apple Car Play or Android. That is only on the SEL version. Also, the U.S. Venue Limited does not come with a sunroof. No, Nissan Kicks does not have wireless Apple car play in the U.S. I went with the 2023 Nissan Kicks. I got the SV trim. Mine also has the black wheels like the one in the video. That was $500.00 more. I looked at the Venue Limited, but I liked the looks and cargo room better on the Kicks. The Kicks is also easier to slide into compared to the Venue. I can get 43.4 MPG on the expressway with the Kicks, so, thus far, I am pleased with my purchase.

I am thinking about these two and happy to find the two compared. I am coming from a Subaru Outback. quiet a change, but this is all I need now. One thing that I really hate losing is the electric seat control. I hate manual seat adjustment and even some of the higher end cars do not have it. Thanks for the review!

Great work. Thanks. The Nissan has a nicer front interior. I also prefer the Nissan's infotainment as it is much better integrated in to the dash than the Kia. What other competitors do these have in the AWD version?

I own a 2022 Venue SEL (USA version). I don’t have LED’s but I don’t need it because it is my errand car around the city (only). I don’t drive it at night. I love this car. I average 38 mpg in the city. My SEL (US) has trajectory on the backup cam. I don’t have keyless fob, I use a real key for the ignition. Canada and US models have different features!

Just to put it out there, one doesn’t necessarily need safety systems with automatic braking. It is possible to avoid or mitigate impending collisions all on your own, I’ve been doing it for 40 years now.

Hello. I wanted to ask you which vehicle would you recommend for regular road trips? I'm from Massachusetts but living in PEI which is about 10-11 hours. Between the cost of flying and having my car available when i visit home, I'm planning on taking this journey several times a year and I wanted to know if there's any difference in comfort and reliability. I know the kicks has slightly more space and a bit more fuel efficient but nissans make me nervous. I've always been a honda/toyota driver but i want something new and these are more in my price range. Thanks for a great video!

There used to be a time where small cars weren't great for longer trips. That isn't really the case anymore. Both of these cars would handle your trip just fine. At the end of the day, it's tough for me to say which one works best for you. What I would do is see if you can get an extended test drive of each model. If the seat on one works better for you than the seat on the other, that may be enough to choose that one over the other. Comfort is going to be a big deal on long drives like that.

I think it's just a matter of deciding what REALLY matters to you. Sometimes it's as simple as sitting in both cars and you just know that one is more to your liking. Other times it's a matter of, "hey, I really like how the controls work on this one car vs. the other." See if you can sit in both cars in the trim that you want. That might help.

Venue is a good car for the city, in two colors it looks much better: red body and black roof or british style (blue body and white roof and blue interior, such as Doug De Muro`s review). I own the official one Venue Elegance in Ukraine, about one year. Similar to your`s, but, without driver assistants, without sunroof and keyless. Prices fo Elegance 23k USD, your`s version with assistants and keyless, 24.5k USD. With british style looks like Land Rover or Mini Cooper. But last time we have many Kicks from USA, which looks like Nissan Juke, but Venue looks better.

I think at the top end of the segment, the Nissan is the class leader. Things like that 360 camera, and all the other features make it a real stand out. Things get a little more cluttered when you look at the mid level trims in each of these vehicles as there is more similarity between features at that point.

Neither brand is top notch now in the reliability department (especially long term) though the small economy cars do better than the sedans and big CUVs. (or someone who can only afford a small car may do better maintenance)
@PeterLoweOne

I think it's important to remember that the average reliability today is often better than the reliable vehicles of the past, so overall vehicle reliability has been vastly improving compared to vehicles from the past. I wouldn't hesitate to buy either of these vehicles from a reliability standpoint.
@carlmontney7916

I realize these are the lower end vehicles by their companies but I honestly would not buy either one of them both for the same reason. The lack of a flip-down armrest with cup holders. Or even a pull out at the end of the center console that actually has real cup holders. IMO that is an epic fail on the design teams for both of these vehicles. Do they not have kids who might ride in the back and want to have a drink? Yeah, I know they have pockets in the rear doors that you could slip a drink into but that is basically for a bottle of water try putting a large drink from your typical junk food drive-thru in That door pocket and see how easy it comes out without the lid popping off or spilling everything. Or How about a child in a car seat That's tethered in place on the rear seat. There is no way that child is going to be able to reach the pockets in the door. Which I already mentioned are really not cupholders. It's really quite sad that these are omitted because I actually like the Nissan and would have bought one except for that.

The Venue replaced the Accent as the cheapest Hyundai. It's not really a direct competitor to the Kicks SR in this video. That would be the Kia Soul GT-Line.
@racineurr.8924

Soul yes but not the GT line. Base Soul more or less. But the comparison stops there cause both of these vehicles have a 1.6L 120 HP engine when Soul comes with 2L 147 HP engine.
@toronado455
@toronado455 Жыл бұрын
@@racineurr.8924 The Soul is faster, yes. And you're right, not the GT-Line. But not the base Soul LX. The Soul EX is a better comparison because it has the same wheel and tire size as the Kicks SR. Though Soul EX also has a sunroof, while the Kicks does not. However, fuel economy and ride comfort are better on the Kicks. So it just depends on what is more important to the consumer.
