This film hits me really hard, because from 2004-2009 I was in exactly the same position -- being completely in love with my best (straight?) friend. We did everything together, spent nearly every day and night together, and were as connected as any two people could possibly be. I think he always suspected I was in love with him, but it wasn't until I actually told him one night that it became an issue. Much like Harris, he left and said he couldn't deal with it. Unlike Harris, he blocked me and has (to this day) never spoken to me again. Looking back, I think he was actually in love with me too, but just had no idea how to go about dealing with the fact that he was emotionally and physically attracted to another man. I literally cry every time I watch this because I always wish my own experience had turned out this way.

Hola RJV.

I have a straight friend like this. He was always about the pussy and we were very close. Still are. I eventually told him I was in love with him. It didn’t affect our relationship. We’ve done things together and I ended it. We are still friends and we talk often. I live on the east coast and he lives in the west because of his job. I still love him. The reason I ended it was because he was too into being macho which was something his parents engrained into him. It was all about sports alllllllllll the time. That and the constant beers! I just couldn’t take it. So I ended it. The blonde guy in this film had redeeming qualities and was willing to learn and wanted to. My friend was not like this. I still love him but he won’t ever change. Just some things he says if very offensive and it’s a joke to him. Hes never mean about it but I can’t be with someone like that.

Well that certainly was a twist at the end hehe! I expected Aaron to take the "chivalrous" route and say something like "we'll never see eye to eye on this so we'll just keep this as a friendship". But that's really neat that Harris is willing to genuinely try and Aaron will indeed go after what he has wanted. Well it does take two to tango 😉.

The dark blonde guy is gorgeous, those eyes omg. The short was great. I liked the ending, although it's something that may happen once in a trillion times on these situations. Is not bad to have hopes and go for it but it is also wise to think things through and put everything in the balance. I once preferred to keep it to my self with a girl that is my friend to this very day because I knew she wasn't into me, she was always dating some other boy and I was just her friend so I preferred to never say it and preserver that friendship that otherwise would have been most surely lost even if we got together. Sometimes couple relationships are not what you expect, they are not the same as friend relationships. It's very difficult to separate things and very difficult not to lose on thing or the other, or maybe both and lose the person completely.

Hey Peter, Lots of silly comments by guys who know nothing about the subtlety of feelings. Your film is simply lovely, the acting is fine, in fact the natural feel is just right. You don't need histrionics to tell this story. It's the undertone that counts and here that undertone is genuine and perfectly believable throughout. Clearly, Harris too is either gay himself or bisexual. That comes though in his behavior and his unconvincing obsession about one night stands he thinks are all consuming love or something. I guess the only thing that is somewhat in question is how come he would accept the realization that he might be gay or bisexual with such seeming serenity. But then, you're trying to create an atmosphere and the film is short. No time for conflicts or tortured soul-searching. Overall WONDERFUL. Thank you for making it. Cheers from the USA.

I saw it, liked it and just now realized that you're the director of both. Consequence has a very real feel to it as well but I have a personal preference for your first one because of the subtlety. What a great short! It shows a soul revealing his feelings to another and that the receiver of his affection, is willing to entertain the possibility of a relationship with them although it's not what their accustomed to. Love is a gift. No matter it's form. I love that Harris is willing o broaden his horizons with his best mate. I can think of no other way to spend the rest of my life with the person I call my best friend. Harris, though timidly, is at least willing to "test the waters." It take a big man with faith, to venture into the unknown. BTW....yeah, the actors, well.....there was a lack of acting continuity, but a few acting lessons would be in order. Sequel?

That is so sweet. Probably, it wouldn't work out for the "straight" guy, but I totally can believe that a straight guy can love a gay guy and certainly a gay guy can love a straight guy. I'm 59, will be 60 in a few weeks, and I personally find my most meaningful loving relationships with straight guys who know how to hug and enjoy hugging me. They find my ability to express my affection and love for them endearing and I find their masculinity and love for their wives and children beautiful and endearing as well. I would love to meet a gay guy in his forties who isn't "out" yet and we just meet in the course of daily life, maybe shopping at the local Trader Joe's. I've watched a lot of LGBT shorts and this was one of the best written and best acted I've seen. Thank you, Peter Michael for your terrific story. :-)

To be truthful, Aaron really did show honest love just by being willing to try something so very unlikely - that's sacrificial love right there, which may, or may not, develop. Nalanda Tendar so what? Don't be victim to society's prescribed "rule book" of who you can and can't be with based solely on whether they'll make a picture perfect magazine cover couple. Shallow people (when they can actually tear their eyes away from the social media that is programming them to like only what sells and makes money, thus selling more, and making more money, and propagating the endless cycle! When will humanity wake up?) are slating this short for "bad acting", and "unrealistic pairing", but this is real life, people. It's not a Hollywood make-believe, with ACTORS (go look it up, InstaSheep), portraying the beautiful couple that will make everybody happy.

I see a lot of criticism about this ending but I do believe that someone can like/fall in love with someone of the same gender if they identify as straight without slapping a label on as gay. I see it as just so happening to fall in love with somebody regardless of gender. It's very confusing when put into words but not everything is about labels. You can be a gay man and fall in love with a girl, does that make you straight or automatically mean you are attracted to more females than just her? No. Definitely possible but not always the case. Same goes vice versa. A straight male can fall in love with his male best friend, does that means he's attracted to guys, no it means he's fallen for his best friend as a person, regardless of his gender.

Stephanie Mercer you're so right! My husband doesn't see himself as gay he finds women attractive in general but he fell for me, (a guy,) and his mind saw my body as attractive, even if it wasn't a women's. So it does happen.

I subscribed after watching "Consequence" long time ago and today I saw this one on my feeds and watched both... again. I should apologize because the accent sometimes can be annoying but sometimes I find it weirdly hot as well lol. Idc about the acting, subpar but tolerable. I still like the actors tho. The storyline is something many people can relate to or appreciate at the very leastt becase it's real, it happens. Simple and direct. The film was able to relay the message in just 21 mins when so many films can take a hour or more but you get nothing in the end or drags for so long when a newbie film student can compress it in 15 or less lol. Anyway, same with "Consequences" I like this "Bro" film as well, I even liked Jordan's bloopers. Sadly, Peter never made anymore film after these two and last post was 4 years ago. This could've been a real big channel. Not sure what happened, I hope he and the other guys here are somewhere out there successful doing what they like doing achieving their dreams.

Finally, a good film about heteroflexibility, I LOVE IT! You can be a man and be I love with a man and not be gay or bisexual. Awesome Job! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

I think the awakening is that it is not even "not be gay or bisexual". It's simply life force and flow. It just happens. More like--SURPRISE! Complete opennnes.

Now I'm smiling from ear to ear OMG Harris is so idk caring...? Like, giving it a try for ur best friend?! Who would do that? Aaron is so lucky and the las part in Aaron's room what Harris said was hilarious I loved this film and actually, the comments are exaggerated I mean the acting was SO NOT THAT BAD I mean I'd give it a 7/10 which definitely is not bad and when they had that fight id say Harris did it better But the film itself for me is 9/10 (one being for the acting sorry) But it's actually worth watching at the end is really satisfying

This was decent. I know a lot of hard work went into this, so I want to be fair with my criticism. The characters were good. Harris spoke with his hands a lot which was distracting. He also paced too much in the final scene. A more stationary shot with a tighter angle on the actors face would capture the emotion better. Aaron was good but his feelings for Harris need more scenes or development. The storyline is great. I myself have experienced this struggle with a friend. This story is very relatable. Great job. Hope to see more!

Perfect match...Harris probably has a huge tool and he's totally focused on it...and Aaron is also totally focused on Harris's huge tool...lovely!

I watched your short movie and I enjoyed it, even though the ending, i think would likely never happen. Even so, I liked the ending and wished that life would be like that, where more people would be towards the open mindedness of trying out something new, even if it didnt work out. But i think people even today, are still just a bit too closed minded for that to occur. Which is sad, but true.. I look forward to seeing your next short film.

Oh, I think the end could easily happen, though not quite the way it occurred in the film. I had a best friend in college who identified as straight. But one night, I came out to him in tears. A few weeks later he seduced me. He claimed that he had never had conscious gay feelings until he met me. That was in the late 1970s when we were in college. We dated for a while, but eventually grew apart romantically after we graduated and moved away. We stayed good friends though, even though we live in different cities. He met the man of his dreams and has been living with him for over three decades.

When he said “I can’t believe you just said that too me” it reminded me of that clip of the guy getting slapped in the face and saying “I can’t believe you’ve done this” i think it’s because of the accent lolol

Who says that Harris is straight. He didn´t "try" guys before. He would never make this offer to Aaron it he would´nt have some feelings for him. So let him try. He is open to find it out. Maybe he is still confused...but who knows maybe his feelings grow up...Then he will know, that he like girls and boys. The world is colourful. That´s it. There is so much more than right or left and nothing and all!!!!!!!!!!!!And that´s what I like in this movie. (But please Harry: wash your hair)

I tell you what if Aarron (or the actor Riley) said that to me I'd have kissed him faster than you can say "wow where did that come from". I mean that voice alone, but yes I agree if he never thought about guys like that then it's possible. I'm not saying all guys need to try both men and woman to be sure of their sexuality, but I do think that everyone needs to at least think about all their options, and you never know that might be why it didn't work out with those girls... Thanks for the film.
@nickknatterton39778 жыл бұрын
+Tobias Rye. Yeah. I mean it´s less a matter of "thinking" but more a matter of "feeling". It´s right: if somebody is sure, why looking for the other gender? But if you feel "SOMETHING" like Aaron in this movie, and you´re not sure what it is, why not figure this out? For me it´s not important to be sure if you´re gay or not. (Maybe Aaron is bi). It´s important to know if I love somebody or not. In this case: Aaron loves his mate.

If each and everyone were supposed to be confused about their sexuality, what a world it would have been. The more you find early , the better. But remember we will each be judged according to our deeds.

This was great! I wish it was a full length film. I really enjoy the dynamic between the two main characters. And it would've been nice if there was a longer running time to properly flesh them out beyond "the book geek" and "the party whore". But still a very good film.
