from representation, to music, to cinematography and delivery, everything was perfect. it makes me happy that their relationship was portrayed as normal as a straight couple- because it really is no different, people cheat, they get lonely, and they do the unthinkable as a means for catharsis. But ah, catharsis, this was the most important need in our main character. His repressed past made us feel with him, the distant sounds of his mother and father yelling, the car door closing as his father leaves, and the weeping of his mother as she holds him- every detail came together perfectly . This short film had excellent cinematography and I am very thankful that art can be exhibited through film where it can be seen by the public- because we show them that we're no different, that we're all fuck ups at some point and that, that normalizes the concept of being gay . because it is real, we exist, and it is as simple as that .

The only thing I could gather was that while they were together, he always kept his feelings bottled up. He was with the guy two years and couldn't say "I love you." I don't agree with cheating, but breaking up would have been on the table for sure.

You can put years and years into a relationship even if the one you love stays distant and disconnected because sometimes even if your alone in a relationship you still feel that undeniable L O V E even if it hurts . Love gives us hope and some try to live on hope ...for as long as they can but being lonely can eat away at you like cancer, I know I was the "puppy dog" for years until I could not breath anymore. I still miss him to this day, love doesn't go away nor does it fade completely . It lingers like shadows always in the back of your mind. Peace.

Thank you! This film brought back so many memories for me. I met the love of my life because of a cheating boyfriend. I was working out of state for 2 weeks and came home and found my "boyfriend" cheating with this guy who knew nothing about me but was distraught about what happened. We eventually met again and talked, became friends and eventually fell in love. I spent my 20's with him until the day he passed away 18.5 years ago. He made me a MUCH better person and brought me closer to my family. To this day his name is brought up by one of my family members at every gathering.

That's the point. Jace's boyfriend resorted to cheating because Jace was never there for him emotionally, and the boyfriend had even TOLD Jace that this was a problem. It finally took actual cheating to get Jace to realize that he needed to start SAYING that he loved his boyfriend and giving his boyfriend the emotional support that had been missing. That's why the alternate ending is so satisfying. It ended with Jace actually saying the words that his boyfriend had wanted so desperately to hear.
