IKEA needs to come out with a Symfonisk subwoofer yesterday!

I think I'm gonna add two of the Symfonisk speakers to my garage with the Beam and 55" TV that are already in there, trying to keep it cheap since its just a garage. Thanks for the info.

Hey Peter I gotta say I love your videos I upgraded my entire bedroom setup cause of you I have a lg 55inch cx. Bought the Sonos arc based off your recommendation. Which is more then enough for my bedroom, but simply for the price of these I bought them to mount on my walls as book shelf rears. Though they may not be behind me more like directly to my left and right of my bed I’d rather overkill my bedroom then not have a home theater experience, thank you for everything

Awesome! Your videos are always great! Would love to see an update of this with the sub mini!
@colinjaccino93504 жыл бұрын
Awesome video! As much as the price difference makes the pairing unlikely, I think that there are those that would choose this route. The Ikea speakers aren't too bad, and your graphs really tell a great story. A pretty flat curve across the entirety of the listenable frequency range. Thanks Peter!
@PeterPee4 жыл бұрын
Totally agree! I would love to recommend this to someone who wants the bookshelf functionality of dual purpose furniture. And adding the sub to give some real serious bass.

Now that you release Sub Mini review, does it make sense to pair this with the Ikea products? Rather than the bulky sub gen3?

I can personally attest to this! I have the exact set up, but with the Sub Gen 3. And the sound is amazing! Thank you again Peter!

I think good sound is quite accessible nowadays. I was listening to a KZbin post of a Sonos Five pair against the KEF LS50 wireless. The audio recording was quite good, and both speakers sounded fine in the comparison through both my stereo and headphones. But looking at the comments, the audiophiles were blown away by KEF and Sonos was absolute junk. I had forgotten why I left the hobby with snobs like that.
@PeterPee4 жыл бұрын
Oh daniel, I think I’m in the same boat as you. My decision was at the point when someone was blasting me for saying there is no difference in the USB and lan cable that connects the steamer. A gold stranded lan cable that costs $450 improved their stereo image. They have to spend their last dollar else their sound is crap.

Hello Peter.. Great video... I have a sonos beam 2, gen 3 subwoofer and symfonisk bookshelf gen 2. Could you tell me the sound settings of each one to have a better sound please?
@PeterPee2 жыл бұрын
You have to tune everything as a whole room. Not individual. Search my channel for best Beam setting. That should serve as a good baseline.
@davidthanos4 жыл бұрын
Hey Peter. I know the arc and beam have one hdmi input. But I have too many devices that require hdmi. Have you done a video of using an hdmi switch on either of the bars.
@PeterPee4 жыл бұрын
You are connecting the bars to the TV right? You can use any switch to one of the inputs on the TV. But the Sonos Arc/Beam will be connected to the HDMI ARC port on the TV.

I’m planning on starting 2021 with an Arc and a sub, and get surrounds in June. Do you think that Sonos might release a pair of surrounds with an upward firing speakers to get 5.1.4 out of their setup in 2021?
@PeterPee4 жыл бұрын
Hmmm.. it’s a lovely idea and I’d love it. But Sonos isn’t known to be the most adventurous in that aspect.

How did you connect the sub to the Symfonisk speaker? Is 2 speakers required to connect a sub? I have 1 and I don't have the option to add a sub in the sonos app.
@PeterPee2 жыл бұрын
Hey Natalie, very good question. For Sonos own speakers there is a add sub option under settings. You can even add subs which are already in another room. But for ikea Symfonisk Soeakers they have made it a little more convoluted. You need to actually remove a sub from any existing room first. Then go to the sub and add it to an existing room where the ikea Symfonisk is. You can’t add from ikea Symfonisk room.

Another great video. Do you think you’ll ever take a look at the architectural products from Sonance? Trying to decide whether it’s worth getting them for rear speakers instead of Ones.

You’ll need an amp to drive them and the speakers themselves are not cheap. I’m not sure if it’s worth that price differential.

Hi Peter! The best Sonos content on KZbin as usual! I'm thinking about getting a new piece of Sonos for Black Friday and was hopping for some advice from you. Tl;Dr Replace beam with arc in 5.1 system, or get another sub for a second 2.1 system? I already have two Sonos room - one with beam, sub gen 3, 2x symfonisk. And another room with 2x symfonisk. Do you think it would be better to upgrade the beam to an arc and move the beam to the other room or do you think getting another sub for the second would be best? Or maybe getting a pair of one SL would be better and move the symfonisk to a third room? I really like the low of the sub I have and the sub is a bit cheaper, but maybe the soundstage of the arc is worth it since I do most of my listing in my living room. I watch movies mostly on Netflix and a whole lot of music as well. Sorry for the long post and keep up the great work!
@PeterPee4 жыл бұрын
If I were you, I'd get the Arc. You already have a sub. So if you wanted to play around, put in a bit of hard work and you can move it around the house. But the Beam is a beam and it will never be a sub. \I don't know if you are able to get Atmos content but the soundstage itself would already be much wider. I think given your current equipment list, this is your best investment at this point. Don't consider upgrading the Symfonisk to the One SL. The difference will be too small for you to realise.

Great video as always @peter! Are there any less expensive alternatives to the Move when it comes to battery powered surround speakers that are worthy of the Sonos Arc and sub set up? I have a room set up we are having surround speakers that need to be plugged into power is not practical and it also doesn’t look good aesthetically.
@PeterPee4 жыл бұрын
Hey hang on a second. The moves won’t function as surround in a sonos home theatre setup. They are made for music only.

Outside as in outdoor? If it is just for music, just go for a pair of Fives. They will sound great with one less powerpoint. If you are short on space, then go for the Ikea Symfonisk Bookshelf. They are easier to place.
