@evanwickstrom56985 жыл бұрын
The only effective EMP systems I know of are explosively pumped flux compression generators, which, y’know, require explosives, so that’s gonna break a bunch of rules and probably laws. Plus, the strength of a magnetic field falls off exponentially with distance, so if the weapon was mounted to your drone, you would be subjecting yourself to hundreds if not thousands of times the energy you would be subjecting the other team to. So, as much as the idea is awesome, such a weapon probably wouldn’t be feasible, and could actually be illegal in the country the event is held in.
@leatherbag54185 жыл бұрын
EMP is a good idea, however, it would interfere with connection of everyone's drones (which includes your team and queen) but also your own. Even if the emp is directed away from your drone, it would still interfere with the connections between your controller, vehicle and cameras. Maybe if you could have your drone switch to autopilot before it engages EMP so it could safely hover without the pilot, but that would make it vulnerable and would require a dire situation where your best chance is to believe that every enemy drone will be disabled for sure. It would also require a lot of energy, and also the vast amount of equipment and space needed for an omnidirectional EMP that is far away enough from your electronics to not effect them would be too cumbersome, and would make the drone akward to fly and inefficient.

i had a crazy idea: its a drone with a fish hook and winch. the winch will be on one side with a weight for balance. the special part is it will have metal blocks along the sides of the prop ducts, on the back of the prop duct there will be small rockets. The drone will reel in a drone and beat it up by spinning to a fast speed and bashing it with metal bars. Im not sure if that is within the rules but it seems like it could work.

So I think next time you should place light sheet metal around the sides so hooks cannot grab onto it
@jakegarrett81095 жыл бұрын
carbon fiber for sure (CF is 50 to 100x stronger than steal per weight when used correctly). You only need the paper thin carbon fiber for this. Ironically, the thinner the carbon, the more it seems to cost, lol! Also flat strips of carbon are ridiculously easy to make, just use a piece of glass for your table (so its super flat, and super easy to clean the epoxy with alcohol), then you can use sheet metal (or carbon) for some little 90 degree brackets to attach the sides (if you want it modular to play with the sides). The reason I'd avoid the weight is just due to how he lost basically due to battery running out.
@minnesotangaming89665 жыл бұрын
Jake Garrett or even carbon plate it by sending it through positive and negative electricity if that works with carbon fiber
@jakegarrett81095 жыл бұрын
@@minnesotangaming8966 Carbon fiber only works with tensile strength in the direction of the fiber weave (I see a lot of Chinese knock off quadcopter frames get this wrong, they end up like a noodle in the air...). The only strength they have out of the fiber alignment is just from the epoxy (so not much...), and that's why I mentioned "when used correctly" (because I see a LOT of fails in this). I don't think you can plate the fibers without a bonding medium like epoxy (its basically fiberglass, and you actually use fiberglass resin, the only difference is, its a lot stronger than SOME fiberglass types, looks cooler, and costs way more). It is electrically conductive, so technically, you might be able to fuse it to metal with like 1 million volts, but at that point you're just welding it, and its probably just going to fall off and not do anything. Carbon steal is iron with very small doses of carbon infused in it, and I don't think you can just brute force bond the massive amount of pure carbon to a metal to make a weird metal-alloy-carbon composite. You can still epoxy it to almost anything though, like the foam (the epoxy is basically a glue, however, it needs to be vacuum bagged so it compresses the carbon onto the object). Since electroplating only works on conductive things, I assume you're talking about electroplating it to sheetmetal or something like that (if its foam or cardboard, then those can't be electroplated). Also a cool thing about electroplating technology, John Deere (the tractor and agriculture machinery) currently electroplates their paint, which should make it last a ridiculously long time (that said, I've seen 60 year old tractors still have most of the paint, but this should make it last longer). They also give free tours if you have one nearby, those are kind of neat to see.
