Frog @Ease Floating Chlorinating System

My hot tub troubles are over! No more cloudy or stinky water. No more skin rashes. I found the answer in the Frog @Ease system! Just let it float and regulate the chlorine level automatically. Thanks Pete. We own a 300 Softub, and like you, I did damage to the skin due to the tub being off balance. Softub, the manufacturer, sells @ease products, including the Frog and Filter Mate that goes inside the regular filter. Learning that the top portion of the Frog is the mineral filtering part, is having the Frog Filter Mate necessary? Or damaging to the tub and users if used simultaneously? Knowing that the Frog mineral filtering half last as long as the Filter Mate, I took out. Thanks again.

Hello I have tried to get my chemical right but can't. If I put the frog in now will it fix it or do I need to drain and start over

Just started using this , quick question. How far upside down does the floater go when your out? Like at what point do u realize it’s time and change it. Mine is leaning over pretty far and I’m hoping to get another week

Hello! It will go completely upside down when it's totally out. At that point, you'll want to replace it ASAP. I use the test strips at least once a week, and when your frog flips all the way over, you'll notice the chlorine (top color on the strip) is much lighter. Also remember to get the air out of the frog whenever you put it in (or back in...we take ours out and put in the hot tub cup holder when we're in the tub) as the frog will not float properly if the air is in it. (It will eventually sink enough to get most of the air out, but I hold it under water for at least ten seconds and rotate it to get the air out.)

@ great tip. My frog looked like it was almost out based on its tipping over but after I submerged it like u said to do now it’s not tipping as badly. Clearly there was air trapped. Thanks again for the tip, looks like I’ll be getting that third week after all with this one

Do you leave the floater in while u are in the hot tub or do u take it out while u are in

We take it out and place it in a cup holder on top until we get out

Hi - So I just got myself a 4-person life smart hot tub myself. With this Frog Ease system, do I not need to buy any other products? Like Total Alkalinity, Calcium increaser, or pH Increaser/decrease? Or is this ONLY for chlorine use?

I do use pH Plus (or you can use baking soda) to keep the pH in balance (it gets low from body deposits...yuck...and from adding water, which is usually slightly acidic) and sometimes I add a splash of clarifier...but aside from that, I don't have a bevy of chemicals. The Frog system keeps just about everything in check. I shock my hot tub ( non-chlorine MPS shock) about every 10 days to 2 weeks, but we use it just about every night for an hour. The Frog system recommends monthly shocking (they include the non-chlorine MPS shock with the system) but due to the frequency of use here, we have to shock a bit more frequently. I can buy a large container of shock pretty cheaply and it only takes a couple tablespoons to clear things up perfectly (you can smell a stronger smell from the chloramines building up...lets you know it's time to shock. ) If you have well water, you may need other chemicals but for me, with city water, it's simple to keep my water clean and clear. I also drain the hot tub every 3 months after running a purging chemical through to remove nasty slime buildup (it happens...even in the cleanest hot tub) inside the lines and jets. I use a product called ahh-some hot tub cleaner and purge. It gets everything out before you drain it. Hope this helps! P.S. because my tub is 110v plug and play, my jets run more often (the jet pump is what heats the water) so I go through Frog units faster (about 2 weeks to 16 days) in the winter. Still worth every penny. Also, I take the Frog system out when we are in (I invert it on one of the cup holders) and I leave it out when I shock the hot tub after use, then pop it back in the next morning.

@@jakepeterson880 No...manufacturer suggests doing a purge (the AhhSome cleaner) then drain/refill about every three months. Shocking is just a simple process for me...I take out the Frog chlorine dispenser, then sprinkle about two tablespoons of shock over the surface of the water, leaving the jets running. I leave the top open (let the gases release) for 30 minutes. I turn the air jets on/off a few times during the hallf hour process, then close the cover. I replace the frog chlorinator the next day.

I'm curious if you still have had no issues after a few months of using and I assume by this point having purged the water and refilled. I've owned my hot tub for almost 2 years. The first few months I was battling foam and cloudy water. I'm colorblind so all test strips were/are a nightmare for me to use and could never keep the water balanced. I gave the Frog system a shot about a year ago and had the exact same experience as you; perfect water...then about 6 months later, it just started to not work for me. My chlorine readings were constantly zero, my ph was constantly high and some how I even had high CYA. I've been using liquid chlorine since then along with a digital test meter and it's been working really well, but I find myself adding chlorine and adjusting my pH ever day. It's a lot to keep up with. I just purged my lines today and was planning on giving Frog @Ease another try since I still have one mineral cartridge and 2 chlorine cartridges.

I have had continued great results with the Frog system. I usually only have to add Ph Plus, as frequent use usually lowers the pH. I have also been using a product called Hot Tub Serum Maintain which has helped with clarity and cutting down on mold buildup on my cover. My chlorine levels have been perfect with the Frog system and then shocking every month or so with non-chlorine MPS shock. Has been very easy to maintain with good clarity.

Take your water to a spa place let them tell you what to do. I am color blind so the pool is up to my wife to get it going

Does FROG provide shock for the monthly adding? If not, how much shock is needed, monthly?

Shock is not provided. I shock about every month or so with non-chlorine MPS shock, about 2 tablespoons scattered over water surface. I remove the Frog chlorine ball before shocking. After shocking I leave the hot tub open for 45 minutes, then close it up. I put the Frog chlorine ball back in the next day.

I just purchased a 6 person inflatable hit tub and purchased the frog@ease. I'm wondering if I can also use one for an inflatable pool thats large enough that i dont want to empty it every couple days, instead keep the watee May to September @petesreviews15
