Your demos are always the best. The fact that you provide context and background information for the equipment makes all the sense in the world, it's the best way to make an informed decision. You may not know the product per se, but the historic context let's you kind of imagine how it would sound like.

Echoing the sentiments of many below, I absolutely love the way you play. Your style is inventive, assertive, crisp and superbly produced. Something that didn't exist in Demo's until you came along in my opinion. I'd love to see you play live, any plans on coming to Sydney, Australia any time soon? Thank You, Have a Happy, Safe Dec/Jan :-)

Great demo Pete, I've been making my own pedals and will be starting a Princeton build and looking for a speaker that can do a good job of meeting the clean americanish side of things while also handle the distortion tones from all my Runoffgroove Tube-to-FET conversion and fuzz pedals. This speaker really seems like a fine contender for this, moreso than most others I've listened to. Thank you! Phil Donovan.

I put the A-Type in my Rivera Chubster recently and I am very glad I did. Previously I had the V-Type in that amp and I must say I much prefer the A-Type for what I play. A-Type: - warm, rounded - great for jazzier cleans, rnb etc - competent for dirt, could be more defined - I think I hear a hint of speaker breakup at band levels, and I like it V-Type: - sparkly, detailed cleans, more modern - great detailed, crisp overdriven tones I would love a speaker with A-Type cleans and V-Type dirt. But for what I play, I prefer the A-Type. Very different speakers.

Damn! I have no way of knowing, Pete, whether you, or anyone for that matter, will see this response on an 8 year old video but I just bought a Type A Celestion 12 and it sounds WAY better than comes across on KZbin sound quality. I'm comparing 2 Fender amps, one with the Type A, and the other with a Jensen C12N. I'd like to know if you've ever tried any modern Jensen 12s. They sound quite different but each has it's own character and charm. I'd love to hear you play in a speaker shootout.

I’ve tried so many cabinet IR’s over the years and the a type is really the only one that has ever been pleasant to my ears. I don’t know if it’s the actual speaker because I’ve never tried a real Atype speaker in a cabinet, but it’s the only IR that seems to always have the harsh frequencies dialed out. Especially when playing through modeling amps. Is that just the nature of the speaker? Or is the literally just the sound I always have in my head and I’m trying to reproduce ? 🤷🏻♂️

Weirdly, I prefer the 70/80 on the drive channel of my 2024 Hot Rod Deluxe. It sounds quite a bit better than the A-type, imo. TBH, I probably should have bought a Marshall vs a Fender but I wanted Fender cleans so I bought the Hot Rod Deluxe

Hi Pete,I was wondering about what your opinion is about this new Celestion Cream alnico speaker, do you think that this is on the same company as the A type?
@BenGraceCreative10 жыл бұрын
Love it Pete! Think I asked you this is another video, but what kinda pickups do you have in your les paul? Your middle position sounds great and very balanced! I've got burstbuckers in my r8 and the pickups are a bit inbalanced- the bridge too shrill and the middle/neck a bit too flubby.

I agree that Celestions have that bark that make them so desirable. However, the A type is not a bright speaker. Not as dark as a G10L-35 but not far off. Very smooth.
