I have the original V-type's in my 2x12 and they are fantastic... 👌🤘
@PMiller34253 жыл бұрын
I have them in a 2x12 and am replacing with a vintage 30 and g12h30. The original v types have a hair to them that does not appeal to me. I never realized how much I didn't enjoy them until I heard my JJ Jr head with what I would consider better speakers.

Just finished building a 1x12 cabinet with one of these, in a 16" x 16" x 24" solid pine / closed back / bass reflex design. I had the exterior sprayed with Line-X truck bed finish, and the entire thing weighs about 20 lbs. 😊 With my H&K Tube Meister 18 plugged into it, it has a fantastic full-sounding tone, in an easy-on-the-back package. The Neo-V is easily one of the warmest sounding neodymium speakers I know of, and not thin sounding like some earlier generation neo speakers were.

Just commented elsewhere regarding swapping my Vintage 30s in my Mesa Recto combo and sealed Recto cab with Celestion G-12 Neo speakers and have never looked back. They do sound a little tighter, but better than most others…. And the Neo magnet is almost seven pounds lighter per speaker! Carrying your shit in and out of venues is enough of a drag, switching to SKB style cases, Mono bags, and knocking 14 pounds out of the guitar amp (while still having the same sound)…. Yes Thank You!!! Glad to hear others are having the same experience with these speakers. ☮️❤️🎶

Yeah, sounds rather nice and likely versatile for many tones, overdrives. Seeing that I'm building a stereo 20 watt Plexi into a Twin Reverb size cabinet, at 67 years old I'll probably appreciate the weight savings. There is a V30 in my gigging single channel 20 watt Plexi and I do like how they work in the genres and style I play but, these NEO V's seem worth giving a shot. Nice Pete, thanks. - Phil Donovan

I have one and have in a small open back pine cabinet which weighs a lot less than a guitar in hardshell case. LOL I run my 50 watt Plexi into it. My rig is both compact and reasonably light but zero compromise on tone in my 3 piece Power Trio.

I’ve used 2 Neo’s in builds. A lil Texas in a 5C3 build and a Celestion V12 Century Vintage in Marshall 18W build. Both great. Cannot find the Celestion anymore. They should better and the weight relief is significant

I have the Neo Century Vintage and like it too, it was discontinued, it is a shame as I wanted a second one. I may try the V Type.
@yessitsme68843 жыл бұрын
Well I did not expect this... Interesting that they would make the V-Type their next Neo speaker, but it also kind of makes sense. Less pressure of actually matching the V30 in Neo version if you're not naming it V30. Wondering if this was asked by an OEM in hopes of making lighter combos, seeing how popular the V-Type is with OEMs.

Celestion creambacks are my favorite speakers. I have a pair with the alnico magnets. Incredible. However, I have listening to reviews of the cream neos and am very impressed, not only for sound, but for light weight. If I hadn't already bought the alnicos, I think I would now go for the neos. One characteristic with neo speakers is they seem to always have a more open and chimey top end than their ceramic counterparts as well as more definition. Great for cutting through a mix. I'm a fan of neo speakers.

@georgefromgreece41193 жыл бұрын
I can't understand how it sounds compared to the original, great, V Type. Neo versions of speakers tend to have less low mids due to lower weight construction and less open highs due to lower sensitivity than their ceramic counterparts. They tend to feel faster too. To me they have more of an aluminum sound, not a bad thing, as speakers with aluminum/ metal dust cups.
@gearoftones85852 жыл бұрын
This is nonsense. Neo speakers usually have more highs than their ceramic counterparts. The magnet may be smaller but it's far more powerful.
