hi pete, mick smith here... i did put granite wheels on my senton 3s blx and i love it.. faster more responsive etc.. i did get 44 mph on cut dry grass with i think the standard 20 pinion. but its a little too fast.. the front end started to wobble and raise up plus it just wants to wheelie at 35 -40mph+.. to rectify this i have added some velcro to the front end and ordered a 17 pinion from modelsport.. i do love the speed but as you said i need to take care of the esc and the motor.. i beleive ARRMA are " horizon hobby " i used to purchase helicopters from them a while ago.. i also have a pro-boat sonicwake 36 (horizon hobby) which will achieve 50mph ... a great boat but.... boats need to much attention.. there hard work... cars are easier... thanks for your videos .. i do trust in you with your un-biased information.. take care pete regards mick...

Hi there. Yeah the inner fender set is a must for the Senton. Doesn't stop everything going in but it helps. I did a video about those. I've made mine a bit lower and used thicker shock oil and now it handles more like a rally car which I like. Tend to only run it in the dry these days as the trucks are better in the mud. Oh yeah the Beetle is good but you need to be a bit careful with it compared to the Arrmas. The main problem I'm having with it is the paint falling off the inside of the body shell after its landed on the roof many times. Mine is possibly a bit fast on brushless. What the advantages of using different tooth pinion gears what one does it come stock with and what ones does it come with
@PeteWylieRC3 жыл бұрын
Basically more teeth on the pinion gives a higher gear so higher top speed with slower acceleration. The opposite is true of the spur gear ie. more teeth gives a lower gear ratio. The Senton comes as standard with a 20 tooth pinion whereas the Granite and Big Rock come with a 15 tooth because bigger wheels also increase the gear ratio. Hope this makes sense 😃

i really wish they would make a sealed motor box. i dont know what they where thinking when they made all the holes around the spur gear. it should ether be completely open or closed. and plastic/composite rod end balls is really dumb. i dont know any rc car ever other than arrma that has done this.
@PeteWylieRC3 жыл бұрын
Hi there. To be fair the new one is pretty good at keeping the dirt out and I haven't really had a problem. With the pivot balls I guess it just comes down to cost. They are a bit rubbish though! Many thanks for your feedback 😁

@@PeteWylieRC the motor cogs bad on mine even after horizon sent me a new esc and motor. not sure if they fixed that or not. all this is why i would not buy a senton again. i was gonna buy a pro sc10 when i bought this now i wish i would have its just a better sct especially on the track.
@PeteWylieRC3 жыл бұрын
@@jhue73 oh right yes I did have to get the first ESC on my Granite changed because of a cogging problem. It's fine now. Maybe you were just unlucky with the electronics. Hope you have more luck with the prosc10
@jhue733 жыл бұрын
@@PeteWylieRC i dont think its bad luck i think the electronics are not good. i have had dozens of brushless systems and i have never had cogging this bad. maybe you got the upgraded version of the electronics. i have the rc10t4.3 rtr which is the same platform as the prosc10 and i havent done or broke a thing on it. its just a great platform. i hate they discontinued the t4.3 and the buggy.

My son blx when you full throttle it the car locks down like it shuts off
@PeteWylieRC3 жыл бұрын
Hi. Not sure about that. Is it a decent lipo pack that you are using ? Also might be worth going through the set-up of the throttle on the radio gear. It's in the instructions somewhere. Otherwise I'm not really sure. Be worth contacting the place you bought it or Horizon Hobbies who own Arrma.

yea new battery smart one the truck sounds bad when it is going also like it surging for power

May be a dodgy ESC. My first one on the Granite went wrong and got replaced on the warranty. Best to contact the seller like I say. Good luck.

Just an fyi. If you remove the battery mount thing it is VERY annoying first time.

Hi there. Sorry I'm not quite understanding what you are telling me. Can you explain please. Thanks 👍

@@PeteWylieRC I was telling everyone else when they take out the battery strap mount it was very difficult for me to remove it.

Why do they build the drive unit open on the bottom..... So unnecessary....
@PeteWylieRC3 жыл бұрын
Yeah I know, they could have it perfectly sealed and it would only be very slightly higher. I'm sure that there is a reason but I can't think of it!. Thanks for watching :-)

Damn, it seems like you have to thread lock everything on this vehicle, seems like they should do all this at the factory!!
@PeteWylieRC3 жыл бұрын
Well yeah that would be nice. I'd rather they sold it as a kit so I could build it right the first time. Other than that a great RC. Thanks for watching :-)

@@PeteWylieRC yeah see this is what keeps me from buying Arrma , I saw in your previous video of the unboxing where you had to thread lock the parts in the driveshafts to keep them from backing out and falling off!! That’s just crazy!!! Lol I can’t believe those parts aren’t thread locked out of the box!! Good video though very informative 👍👍

@@rcreviews9894 I know what you mean but they are worth putting a bit of time into. The Granite is my favourite and maybe my favourite RC of all time. Crazy fun. Just needs a bit of tinkering to get it right. Thanks again for your comments :-)

@@PeteWylieRC I went ahead and ordered the granite 4x4 3s v3 just for the hell of it to see what the hype is all about is there anything I need to be aware of with this truck do I need to completely disassemble the driveshafts like you did for the senton??
@PeteWylieRC3 жыл бұрын
@@rcreviews9894 Ah great, hope you like it. Well you could just run it and see if Arrma have got better at threadlocking. Personally I'd go through it and check. Also the motor screws are important to threadlock on the V3 sliding position motor plate. I think that's how my original Senton motor got knackered! Other than that I think I've mentioned all the things in the videos. Let me know how you get on. I will check out your channel and sub if I'm not already :-)
