Awesome. I agree, I think the speed part of this rig, is the least important part. The fact that it looks like so much fun to drive and the setup is in a way that mostly lands this thing on it's wheels most of the time. lol .. Which of course just adds to the fun. Hiya Nick. Yes I did wonder about putting the brushless set in the 2wd one. Works ok on 4wd but a lot of roll overs. The ability to get it back onto the wheels using the throttle is a brilliant feature. Many thanks for watching and your comments my friend. Best wishes to you 😁

Hiya matey. Yeah I'm sometimes worried that my Willy might get trampled by a horse while I'm thrashing it in the New Forest. When I was reviewing this footage I was quite impressed with how much running I did so playing with my Willy was good exercise too! Hey I don't think we have ever discussed the subject of football which makes me think that you are not that interested like me. I have watched a couple of the England games and will probably watch the match later. It's a good excuse for a drink if nothing else. It's the sort of thing that's good to watch at a pub but can't be bothered with all the rules about what you are supposed to do and not do. Anyway there is possible RC tomorrow depending on how the weather turns out. Forecast is showers. Other than that just some general tinkering. Cheers for your great comments as ever mate. Its become one of my favourite chassis! I use to hate the wr-02c now i have three and cant get myself to open my lunchbox and city turbo. I tried a 12 turn and 3s but honestly, more fun with a silver can and 2s. Great video, lots of info! 👌🙏

Hi there. Yeah it's a fun chassis but like you say it doesn't need huge power. Does work better with the lighter body shell like I was saying in the vid. I prefer the Lunchbox as it can cope with a brushless set more but it is still bonkers. Many thanks for your great comments 😀

Yeah, you can't beat a bit of wheelie action with your willy. But better still wheelies and forward rolls to boot. So that was taking it easy due to how long it took to do the body!!!!!!

They certainly are a handful but fun! I don't know if it helps much on the 2wd one I always stick tape my esc's up front right on top of the servo to put just a little more weight up front. Never had the 4x4 chassis It probably is much better like you said. Nice runs!

Hi Steve. Yes I remember you saying about putting the electronics up front on the WR-02 so I'll have a look at that for sure. The GF-01 is really good but ends up being an expensive Willy as you need to get a GF-01 kit too and a set of rear Willy wheels with a hex for the front. Many thanks for your feedback my friend :-)

Definitely see that the brushless system makes both WW’s really quite a handful to drive, I know you love POWER, but perhaps a little too much power this time. Hi John. Well done on being first! Yeah the 2WD chassis is just too difficult with this much power. I will have a tinker with it with the Jimny shell and make it more driveable. Ah yeah I'd say that the 4wd version drives the best. The 2wd is so light at the front and heavy at the back that it's kind of difficult to drive, especially with that speedy brushless set 😁

This is why one does not need a Traxxas X-Maxx to have fun with rc. I find that smaller rc vehicles often are more fun than the big rc vehicles. And I have an X-Maxx.

Confirming your brushless set up is a 3000kv what turn? Any issues stripping the gears?

It's 3500kv. Don't know how many turns. 3000kv would probably be enough. No the gearbox has been fine. I've got a steel pinion gear. It's on 2s. Thanks for watching 👍

Hi there. Well it probably doesn't need more than the 13kg but if the 20kg isn't much more expensive then go for that. I use the DSservo 25kg ones in pretty much everything as they are cheap and reliable.

Hi there. I just got a Tamiya 4WD GF-01 kit and put the Wild Willy body on that. It would be theoretically possible to get all the bits to make the 2WD into 4WD but it would require studying both manuals and seeing what parts are different. You'd need the chassis halves of the GF-01 for a start. Would be easier to start with a GF-01 and get the parts for a Willy body for it. Not that cheap whichever way you do it.

@@richietherooster yeah that's right. Mine was a Toyota Land Cruiser. I needed to get another set of Willy rear wheels to go on the front as you need the ones with the hexes for 4wd. The problem with the Dump Truck is that it is either yellow or chrome and neither colour suits the Willy so well. Tamiya have not made it easy for us!

I swear the four-wheel drive has a shorter wheelbase than the two wheel drive am I wrong?

Hi Brad. The 2wd WR-02 has a wheelbase of 172mm and the 4wd GF-01 is 2mm longer at 174mm according to Tamiyabase. If you put them next to each other they seem identical. There was a WR-02c chassis that they used for the Honda City Turbo which had a wheelbase of 185mm. I think that the chassis was basically the same but with the front wheels further forward. Hi. I've not noticed my Blackfoot doing wheelies. It's a longer chassis with the weight lower down. Also the Blackfoot tyres aren't that grippy so difficult to get the power down. Might be possible on a hard surface but I've not tried. Thanks for watching 😀
