Great video ! I’ve just finished building my second WR-02 … And I believe the gearbox should be ballraced as a standard practice .

I am having major issues with the installation of a 20-tooth gear. It slips and pops which means bad mesh. But the mesh is predetermined so I can't control the bind. any clues as to why? I am using good products and the 18 tooth has no issues. the 20 tooth sounds terrible and skips every once in while. I was tempted to use a 21tooth to see what happens. Can you help? I am using a 55 turn 540 motor for my 6 yr old daughter and I want to at least use the 20 tooth gear. I have plenty of torque so that would be a nice step up. If this is not going to work I will just go back to the stock 540 27 turns and the 18 tooth.

I have not touched this car in a while. Are you using a Tamiya 20T pinion gear?
Awesome... I also uploaded my tamiya video few day ago

Thanks for the video! How many bearings in total? And are there other places where you could use them, like wheels?

I built this a while ago, I don’t remember how many bearings. But according to the FastEddy website, there are 16 pieces of 5x11x4mm bearings in their Wild Willy 2 kit. I’m sure bearings were used on the wheels.

Never open a tamiya rc car kit until you have all the parts to build it. Never ever build a kit without all the bearings. Make sure you get the correct bearings for the car ie rubber sealed for dirt and normal for touring.

Great vid, sir! I'm a little late to this video, but I have a quick question! My WW2 is making a sound from the steering servo when it's just sitting there (on, of course). It sounds like it's "engaged", if that makes sense. If I turn the wheels left to right (via the remote) it somewhat either stops or quiets down but, other than that, it's always making that sound. Is that normal? It's been awhile since I've taken it out, so I can't recall if it was making that sound before. Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks!

If you have a Savox servo, it’s a common issue. There are lots of Google search results on the topic. I would take the car out and enjoy it until the servo breaks. There are plenty of affordable servo options nowadays that would work well in the WW2.

You dont need to grease the shafts when installing ball bearings
