Perfect timing! We need to replace a tree and I was thinking of a redbud. We live on ‘Redbud Circle’ so it would make sense. Thank you!

This was so well done and provides such a wealth of information! I've been nursing a 1st year tree that popped up in my strawberry patch near my neighbor's redbud

Noelle, Thanking you for your extensive information! I am in zone 6b so will have to see if Red Buds can tolerate alot of heat and sunny conditions! Such beautiful spring blooming trees and you can cut the branches once they flower and put them in a vase to enjoy! Luscious lavender with their glossy foliage seem more able to tolerate drought and hot sunny conditions. Lavender twist also sounds like a great plant for the landscape because of their thick arching stems. So much to study and enjoy in the gardening world. Wow, autumn in Northeast Ohio is just glorious! We had some days of perfect weather so it was nice taking a break from the heat and installing hydrangeas outside, watering, and last feeding of the season for some shrubs. Thanks again, for all of your information. Have a great day & enjoy!♥

Thank you Noelle!! It’s weird because I have a regular flame thrower redbud and a weeping one and they both have a zigzag trunk so the weeping one must have been an the product of an amazing experiment they are show stoppers!! 🌸🌸

This was Epic. I read the book this winter. Game changer. I now wonder if retrieving eggs in your 20s would cause perimenopause sooner?

I'm hoping I planted my flamethrower in enough sun. Central PA part sun but it has lost all of it's color but green. Only been in the ground since spri g. Maybe I need to move?

Can i purchase a flame thrower seedling from you? I have a redbud in my yard and the seedlings are never ending. I've been training a few for a bonsai pot someday and would love to with with a flame thrower.

General information good but best to only plant native redbuds as better support insects. The native tree looks pretty good.

I have the eastern, black pearl, flamethrower, and rising sun. The rising sun is about 10 years old and it has a lot of branch die back throughout the season. It gets a lot of new growth but it doesn't get bigger because of all the die back. Right now one of the oldest branches is dead and needs to be pruned out. I have no idea what is causing this. DO NOT BUY A RED BUD TREE. If you really, really want one, go to the many people that have them and dig one of the red bud trees that are growing unbidden in flower beds. When you plant it, make sure it is placed where you can mow under it and away from any areas that you don't want more. They are invasive. Almost worse than walnut trees. I'm sure that I dug 30 out of undesired locations this year alone. And she's right, the roots are a buger.

I have a Red Bud Tree and it hasn’t been invasive at all. Perhaps it depends on the type. Mine is a Rudy Falls Weeping Red Bud.

Many of these cultivars DO NOT have seeds, and are therefore NOT INVASIVE

1) a native plant can’t be invasive by its very nature. They can be aggressive. 2) these improved cultivars are miles ahead of any natural specimen. Leaf color and/or growing habit. Rising sun, flame thrower, golden falls, etc.
