Bravissima Petra, bel suono e fraseggio chiarissimo, espressivo e stilisticamente appropriato

In all respects a marvelous musical and guitaristic approach to the work of this great composer who was Silvius Leopold Weiss. Thank you so much for allowing me to feel the music of this great musician as I feel it. Music imbued with delicacy, depth, love of the world of sound as these great Baroque composers felt.

Stunning. Personally I think the composer would have loved to have heard his work on a multi-stringed guitar. To my ears, these pieces on lute pale in comparison for depth and tone. The playing is exquisite.

I first bonded with this music through a record by Narciso Yepes. I like hers just as much if not more. Petra is a marvel.

Another stunning performance, where even the grace of her body-gestures in execution seem to contribute to the aesthetic insights. The Sarabande was nothing less than contemplation of the devine, here Petra was fully at one with the composer himself, we felt his presence

Ms Poláčková's technique and interpretation are marvelous. Truly a pleasure to hear this lovely performance. I'm not familiar with this suite, but no doubt it was written for lute. It looks like a bear for the left hand on this Stauffer style guitar with its long scale, but it does have quite quite an impressive voice.

To play Barock Lute music on a 9-string guitar is very meaningful. That`s more close to a Lute, than push through on 6 strings and sounds more original. Allthough there are other compositions of Weiss I prefer more, the Suite Nr. 2 is very well performed by Petra Polackova. Thanks for sharing.

I have already listened several times to your performance and it is really beautiful. The Weiss parts of his suites are mostly all very balanced and have their own color. The way you play the Sarabande is fenomenal. Thanks again for posting this beautiful concert.

Absolutely beautiful! Are the top six strings of your guitar tuned liked a modern classical guitar or to a d minor chord, like a baroque lute?
@Petra512345 жыл бұрын
Tuned as a modern classical guitar, then d, c#, b on the bass strings. Lute tuning would be possible too.
@carlosgustavomunozrodrigue39602 жыл бұрын
Saludos.

Since you're using 9 course, you should use Weiss's tuning. The nuance, clusters, and sustain implied in his fingerings would be a revelation to you. It was for me. I resisted learning the fdafda tuning for years. Glad I did. The music falls under the left hand much more easily and the sound is better.

I agree, you play very well.. thoughtful intelligent I love this piece.. always have.. in this last 40 some years I've been listening to it.. Question... Why not play it on its native instrument? Form me your instrument has a very "guitar like" sound.. to much LOL.. Your playing is suppperb!

@@hindenburg1596 your answer brings for what I know of the horizon effect.. (my reflection), brought out by the games between Deep Blue and Spassky. S.'s pawn in position 4 was disregarded as a threat.. the pawn went to 5 (oversimplification) the computer regarded its evaluation of the previous move and decided to disregard... She's a guitarist, so she will continue to be a guitarist.. Nah.. look at how many instruments John Hopkinson-Smith plays... evolution is always possible!
