The disturbing part of Labour officials accepting expensive free gifts originates from the party's alleged ideal of being the caretaker of the poor, of the working class. In reality, party leaders are enjoying free expensive clothes, tickets, rooms. All the while, the party has taken away what to most is a meager sum for winter fuel allowance but to those affected is a princely sum. I've seen this before with socialists: they enjoy being some of the very few who partake of events and material things that the masses don't have access to, and the socialists flaunt this access.

You don’t give something for nothing in return, for me it’s bribery. Lobbying is the political term, let’s look a mps donations and 5 years later when voted out for doing a speech.
