Is there no legal duty to report suspected child abuse in the UK? There IS such a duty here in South Africa, where many of the crimes were allegedly committed. I think the Church of England in South Africa needs to report itself to our authorities. How any of the clergy could sweep this under the carpet is beyond belief. Smyth was chucked out of his Church in Cape Town in 2016 but I don't recall any criminal enquiry in South Africa.
