LOL 😂 I was thinking of Stevie Nicks & FM because Taylor Swift being allegedly sued for using the lyrics Players play and Haters hate, in her song Shake It Off, by some old time peeps for a girls rap group 3LW from 2001. The prior judge listed 13 songs that used similar lyrics and Taylor’s attorneys even listed several bands including Fleetwood Mac that used the Players Play lyric back in 1977 when Stevie wrote Dreams which sold over one million copies, for interesting minds like yours, 😉, that want to know. Excellent ! When Five Watt World did a review of Martin guitars they never even mentioned the D42. I was disappointed as I have a D42 myself. Mine is rosewood on the back and sides and does sound richer/darker than this one. I'd swap in an instant though as this sounded amazing.

I'm a Martin guy but this one is not for me. It has great mids and strong bass but it needs more shimmer in the treble. Maybe some custom lights with 11's or maybe even some 10's or 10.5's down to 52's. I'll stick with 000's or OM's.
