A turn, a bit of a climb, and from the sound allowing for the distance the throttle reduced, it all combines to look like a stall Capt Robert. I hope you can assemble all the pieces again, it certainly flies nicely on the level.

Found you via your P-51B video; you fellows are a riot. It looked beautiful; the loss is such a pity. May have been asymmetric thrust with the right ESC entering low-voltage cutoff first; it couldn’t have happened at a worse time as you were pitched up and in a right bank when it snapped. Most RC twins are unflyable with asymmetric thrust: too much roll due to yaw. The Pica Duelist was one of the rare exceptions that was manageable on a single engine.

Captain Robert you took it well. I would've been swearing and cussing and then crying. Dynam makes a 262 but its not as nice as the freewing. Hopefully you get it back ok. Poor guy. Take care mate.

At my airfield there is too a dangerous zone, which is better to avoid to fly over low and slow because there are some strange interferences without nearby powerlines. Robert!! You and the Capitain are the best. The crash was NOT your fault. That was definitely not a tip stall. It was the Spectrum radio. They have a brownout reputation. My advice is: 1. Get another 262 model (DYNAM or FREEWING, they both fly equally as good, NEVER tip stall). 2. Burn the Spectrum radio system. 3. Buy a Frsky Taranus radio. Problem solved. Fantastic KZbin channel. Regards from Australia.

How bad is it Robert? Is it repairable? I watched the final, when you said deploy flaps it started to climb while in a banked turn. Do you program some down elevator with the flaps? Now, I would take that bird under those power lines and see if it jitters while the radio is at the table. If no jitters, it must have been a tip stall. I have seen so many warbirds do that. I would try deploying flaps only after lining up the runway. I live and love to fly, but NOBODY likes to crash. But what goes up, must come down...Don't stop til you grease that landing!!!

Yep, tip stall is my vote too. I know other are saying he flew that slow other times and nothing happened but that is subjective and unless you have a radar gun you really can't say for sure. Look, he is also climbing in that turn. Meaning, his plane is slowing down even more! It's pretty obvious, this crash was absolutely caused by a stall and not by some interference or transmitter failure. Sorry dude.

Man, that stinks. At least you handled it like a man. I lost my two favorite planes a week apart a couple years ago. One was a brown out and the other was a midair crash. I contemplated quitting rc. With this hobby, you will have to learn to accept some bad luck at times. I crashed a plane yesterday. I was flying FPV on my old Eflite Apprentice. I noticed it getting slower and then it just fell out of the sky. I have had a few odd issues with the receiver so it will go in the trash. A new motor mount, a new cowl, and some glue will have the beat up Apprentice back in business. Keep your head up and keep flying.

Sorry for your loss There Sr. Robert ..maybe turn , upward angle and flaps... planes don't always make it home in one piece..Have a few beers and think of the fun times !! Tomorrow is another day !!!

Hey Jo. Like you said. Since I dont drink I will just watch the video of the maiden flight. That one was perfect and a dream flight for me. The lost is bigger for me because this baby was crashed before, I bought this second hand, fixed it and it had a story behind. The soul. But this time it didnt survive and there is nothing left to fix. But maybe someday it will came back to me. I hope new one. Oh yeah... So thanks my friend and see you soon, Robert

After examining the crash, i looks like the alerons turned on their own from enterferance or radio out of range. If it was a tip stall, it may be caused by wash in on the wing tips, which happened to me years ago. I was told and shown to put wash out in the wing tips which did solve the problem! All the planes i have built since i put washout in the wing tips and never have had tip stalling again. If you look closely at real aircraft, you will notice a little washout on their wing tips as well! Try it, you might like it!

I hope it flies better than the full scale version. Overweight, not a large enough horizontal stab, no nosewheel steering, under powered, wing incidences all wrong, and more. I believe I read just a couple months ago that the company is really hurting. Thanks for the flight review.

Oh, so sorry to see that. That was a wing tipstall, not a transmitter issue. This is real modeling without editing

HondAttila it is interesting that this spot were happened a lot of bad things happens a lot..i have also crashed the plane on the same spot ;(
@HondAttila7 жыл бұрын
hmm thats not good news. Strange is that the DX9 has 2 antennas, so it does not matter how you stand the plane always gets optimal reception. Maybe some other radios has antenna pointed to the left so there was a weak point on the left side of the runway

HondAttila i dont know what happened we will have to get away from that spot...

That is the thing about 2.4 , you can get a signal block from various things which don't show up on the older systems, it isn't the same thing as an interference problem from another transmitter like it was in the old days. Shame to lose an airplane, but at least now you have room for another new one in the hanger.

Hey Robert Great to hear from you mate. Yes, after the 4 th flight of my beautiful bird, I lost signal with no response from transmitter and the aircraft just went into a sporting oval ...damage to prop ( replaced) all undercarriage removed and hole in wing (fixed) I contacted Horizon Hobby and they sent me a new body and undercarriage ( wonderful service) cannot fly still as the nose gear is damaged with no available worldwide spares available, so will have to wait. Regards Noel

Hey Noel. Sorry to hear that, but you will fix it and be in the air once more. That baby really deserves that. Oh yeah... Be well my friend and see you soon, Robert

I’m sorry for the crash .Understand that it was your dream plane so it’s even worse to loose that. Please when captain Blush tell you to land listen to him . This would not have happened . As I see it the plane lost the power at once and dropped out of the sky in a tip stall. But is amazing how u keep calm . I would have sweared like a pig .Hope u get the opportunity to get your dream plane again ASAP.

That had happened to me before I was flying my pt 40 and did the same thing and I found out it was the wrong receiver. The receiver was working fine but when I went out feather it was acting funny before I know it when down like a shelve.

Sorry to see that happen, I had a similar crash with a DC3, ,,A,, Lancaster and Spitfire, every plane had flaps deployed, and the crashes happened on my final approach turn, I now do not make the final turn with flaps down, I only deploy the flaps when the plane is on its final leg ,,, ie straight in and no more drop outs.,,,,yet.
@PetrincicBrosRC6 жыл бұрын
Like you said J, but I was flying many planes with flaps and make turns and it was OK. Even with this plane. I still dont know what happened here. I just hope that I will have another someday becouse this is still my dream plane and such good flyer. Oh yeah... Cheers my friend, Robert

This could turn in to another Yak 52, cut your losses now, if you smash this one up make sure Captain Blaz is filming this time LOL! Seriously though, sorry to see that, it looked like a very nice plane and you clearly loved it.

Hey Mick This was really my dream plane. I was watching this baby on Motion RC for a few years and finally I got oportunity to buy second hand one. It was crashed before but I was still in love from the moment I saw it for the first time. And it was such a great flyer. Pure joy watching it in the air. And I really dont know what happened here. We have lost a few planes there on exactely the same way. They just started to roll there. I did puted throtle up and elevator full to the left but no response. Or maybe it was just tip stall. But I dont believe that because I was flying with this baby at that speed and making turns and it was OK. But hey. What can I do. We will go on and who knows maybe someday I will have my baby back. Not this one, it was totaly ruined but another. So stay well my friend and see you soon, Robert

Looked like you got jammed. Happens when signals get hot and saturate the radio signal. We have a few spots like that at our field also. Just got to learn to avoid those spots or how to fly through them.
@michaelwhinnery1646 жыл бұрын
Yeah I don't think it was pilot error. There was mechanical problem or electronic
