PETROL FENCE POST KNOCKER - does it beat the tractor? 🚜

I highly recommend these machines. My daughter and her husband had a high wind snap a couple of wooden fence posts off and got a price for having them replaced. Was gonna be a few thousand dollars due to there being no room to dig with a path in the way. I got a couple of 75 x 75 x 8mm angle irons from work (engineer) a couple of metres long and welded a short pipe to the tops of them to fit into one of these machines I hired from a local hire company. Standing on a step ladder I drove the angles down into the ground approx. 900mm easily against the fence rails then cut off the tops and drilled them at rail height to take a coach screw. If I hadn't been watching your previous videos I would never have thought of asking if anyone had one of these machines.

So Jo ask Tim is the mini excavator unable to cope with moving into the paddock for post driving? I would have thought that when you put a post driver onto where the bucket is you could move as quickly as a tractor

Possibly but we don't have a knocker for it and there are a lot of banks I wouldn't trust going up in such a small machine!

Not knowing if these hedges are yours . But if they are would you consider laying them? Also think you might need auto gate opener you have more gates per acre Than most 😊

We will be laying our sections yes. 👍 we have gate openers but they only tend to work on school holidays and weekends! 😂

Great update Tim. Interested to know what your plan is for hedge maintenance with the fences either side?

Goats! Stock will browse the hedge flush with fence and the top can be cut as and when needed. Most still have space to get in and lay in if we decide to do that on some of the hedges we own. 👍
