This channel reminds me everyday of what true motoring is all about. No 0-60 times, no paddle shifter garbage, no hybrid crap technology, no 1000+ hp billion dollar cars. Just simple motoring that is poetry in motion, and is enjoyable, even if you are watching on KZbin. Old is gold. Cars of today have no soul and no feel. Have fun driving your fast zombies. Another great video from a true petrolhead channel. I will always be a fan of your channel, even if every other video shows a Porsche. Happy Motoring everyone !

Tim Davies Keep that B7 RS4. To me, it's the last great 4 door Audi ever made. That V8 is intoxicating with an amazing combination of quattro and a proper 6 speed manual gearbox. I'd trade my E46 M3 for one, if I needed to.

I have a GT3 and there is no way that in 30 years time my soon will be thinking of it the same way. Those 70s 911 were special because they were genuine lightweight cars that were raw and exciting to drive. The Engine noise in one of those 70s 911 were truly special. Modern Turbo 911 are disgusting and the GT3 simply does not compare even though it would be a much faster car.

One of these was parked outside my house last year, I stared at it for a while until the owner came to drive it off. I wouldn't believe he was about to redline it in first gear and leave two black marks on the asphalt. If the driveway extended that far out into the road, I would have elected never to clean those black marks off, but alas, it was a good bit of showmanship from an enthusiast to make them in the first place.

Weston, CT, 1982. My dad had one. At 16 and 1 month, my dad gave me the keys to go pick up a friend. I decided to show off and gunned it coming up to a turn to the left, however due to the power of car and the weight distribution, the tires wouldn't bite and I kept going straight. So I took my foot of the throttle and the car starting taking the turn. I thought I would make it, but the turn got tighter at the end and I ended up off road on an embankment around the turn. I hit the road with a bang as it was elevated off the dirt and because it happened so fast, I thought the bang was me taking off the right rear fender on a rock wall at the top of the embankment that I had been on. The car wiggled and I spun 180 degrees going backwards straight down the road while braking. The horn bowtie flew off into my lap as the wheel spun. I ended up stopped in the middle of the road staring back at the dust settling from my near death experience. My friend said, "you handled that great!" and he meant it cause we could have died. I put the bowtie horn button back on and I asked him to get out of the car and check it out. He looked at each quarter panel and one at a time said, "it looks ok, it looks ok, it looks ok... it's not ok." "It's not ok?" "the tires are dirty". So we drove home quietly and when I got home I asked my dad if he minded if I washed the car. So he said fine. We pulled dirt and weeds from the undercarriage for an hour. Then he and my mom drove off and as they left we were asking each other, "is the car riding low?" "does it look ok". Turned out the car was perfectly fine. Newport Beach, CA 1985 We're watching the Karate Kid on HBO on it's first time on TV when there is a knock at the door. A kid had just destroyed his fathers's Accord and taken out 4 cars parked on the side of the road while doing it. We lived on Galaxy Drive and just before our house was a sharp left turn and a great view of the bay and Fashion Island. He had been going too fast with 3 friends in the car and missed the apex of the turn due to the suddenness of the view. He made it round and smashed four cars on the right side of the road including bending the frame of a Volvo Wagon. He Accord sat in the middle of the street, destroyed. However, all four kids were fine, surprisingly. Meanwhile, he's yelling, "My dad's going to kill me! My dad's going to kill me!" My father, with his empathy yelled back. "Well damn well he should! What the hell were you doing!" I looked at him and said, "Dad. Come here for a minute." He was angry and said, "What!" "Do you remember when I was 16 and you lent me the Porsche?" "Yeah..." So I told him the story. He stared at me for a second and said, "This just happened?" "No, this was when I was 16". He stared a bit longer and went back in the house and left that poor kid alone for the cops to show up and deal with him. Overall, a nice memory of my dad. Not sure why though...

My Grandfather used to let me drive his late 60s 911 and I used to push it as well but I never got beyond my comfort zone and never lost it. A few times in the wet it did get a little hairy because I was not used to such a rear engined car but I did get the hang of it later. That Raw light weight feeling is just unmatched in today's cars. They feel heavy and none responsive but very very fast.

I intend to pick up a 1970s Porsche and have it restored to original factory standard. You do not need own a rare car like the RS to have a special Porsche. Any 1970s Porsche is special. What is more important is getting one that is in very good condition that you can get restored to its original standard without having to butcher the chassis. I think it is also OK to put in a modern suspension proving it is to original standards and not some new fangled quantum magnetic ride.

The 1973 911 RS is truly iconic, but was completely overshadowed by the 1974 911 RS. Why doesn't that car enjoy a similar reputation? Because it was homologated on the back of the 73 version and only about 50 were made for Porsche's motorsport customers. It had a 3 litre 300hp aluminium engine, which was a big step forward from the magnesium 2.7 litre unit, and it was the first of the whale tails, with the RS guards being as wide as the 2.7 RSR guards. The 74 RSR dominated its class in racing at the time, and indeed was still the weapon of choice in Porsche cup competitions around the world until the 993 double wishbone subframe suspension was introduced 20 years later. Now that's what I call iconic. 1974 911 RS replicas (especially with the 3 litre block taken out to 3.5) are still popular for classic tarmac rallies. Mine just took me to the Australian national Targa championship. Love that car!

The 2.7 RS is getting stupid expensive by the day, I'm flipping through a 2005 British classic car magazine now and I'm seeing an ad of one for sale at 80.000 pounds (!!!) Damn, those were the days... one now sets you back more than half a mil and pretty sure they will meet the million mark soon... Well, gotta keep dreaming :) Going for a drive. Stay cool, people

American muscle cars and American luxury cars for the past have large engines such as the various 400 ci models and they have their special place. But those lightweight response Porsches from the 70s are really really special. Classic American cars are far better than European cars but Porsche most certainly matches.
