Victor Rojas Mine was great (Boxter but basically same) in curves at the limit, but tended to go into a 4 wheel drift except under power out of an apex or letting off the gas too quick when entering. No snap oversteer though

That's a wonderful 911, mr. Telfer. My girlfriend was an artist, sadly she passed away in 2018, and I'm a Porsche nut. She always wanted me to have an old 911 as that's the car I probably love most. One day I will honor her wish; in the meantime I wish you many more happy miles and slides :)

Sliding it!!! First day I had my '70 911T, I picked up my brothr-in-law, who had a 356, and went for a blast around our "GP course" through the New York Worlds Fair and environs. I overcooked it on a cloverleaf entrance ramp and spun it 270 degrees! Turns out the tire pressures were way off, different on each corner! Lesson learned and much respect for the car from then on. Quality vid and quality guy.

Damn....You are my hero. When l was 14, I moved into a house next to a lovely lady doctor with a 68 Bahama Yellow 911 targa soft window. I was in love. I told her that when I was ready.. I wanted that car. She kept it forever, so with my meager earnings I bought a new 1976 914...The love continued, and the last 2 of six Porsches were 911s. That sound you described... A 911at high RPM ..... I read once that it was like 'The Hounds of Baskerville being castrated'. Horrid description, but what an intoxicating symphony it is. thanks for sharing this.

I have been a 911 fan since I was 14 when I found out my doctor at the time had one. That was in the mid 1970's in the middle of no where southern Midwest. Then I got the bug. Many years later I moved to Germany and bought my first 911. 1999 996 cabrio. Worst 911 made but I really liked it. Now, I have a 2018 911 Turbo, 540 HP and is a monster, which I drive on the Autobahn to northern Italy and having a great time. However, THIS 68' 911 I will take every day of the week. There is something about early 911's that are magic.Well done man! Cool car and cool dude! Love the story and I completely agree, love people and for god sakes have a passion in life!

Beautiful car, nice story and a cool guy. I came by, because I'll collect a 68 S tomorrow and I'm excited as f#$*. I've had s few G-Model 911, got bored of them and bought two 991.1 from which I switched to a 991.2 just weeks ago. My dad was a gentleman racer from 1970 to the mid 80s and had three 911 after he owned a 912. Last Saturday we talked about the 911 cars he had and the more he was talking about the cars, the more passionate he got about them. The last 911 he had was a 190hp 1972 S and he said, he had to sell it because of the high insurance costs - "and I would have lost my drivers license"... He's almost 70 now and he doesn't need such cars anymore (but a dozen British and Italian motorbikes), but I felt what he felt when we were talking about the old 911. Uh..and I guess we both learned never to speak about money when it comes to the 911. ;-)

I had a neighbor that was a Porsche guy. He got into it when NO ONE really cared about those old speedsters, 911s, and 1912s. He had a corrugated metal building out back that was full of cars and parts. I always loved the lines of the 1st gen 911 more than any other 911. He told me something I never thought about. "To the Porsche enthusiast, we know there is a major difference between the early Porsches and VWs, but the laymen often thought it was just a sporty VW. When the 911 came out it affectively changed that perception, for good."

My dad bought one of these and let me drive it on woodside road when I was growing up in the Bay Area. If you don’t know what I’m referring to Google skyline boulevard just south of San Francisco in the rolling hills of the California coast. To us younger generations it can’t compare to performance with modern sports cars but was the thing to own when he was a young boy in the 60s. That stuck with me. It made me realize the sentiment in things out ways specs and sex appeal we obsess about today. Life is about accomplishing your goals to fulfill those dreams you set decades ago. Great video.. I was lucky enough to have that exact car but right hand drive in the UK, 1975-6. A 911 SWB, Bahama Yellow, "2 Lt. with Webber carbs, they did 'butterfly' a bit. Made late 1967 and registered in UK early 1968. I loved it and I sold it too soon. It had some expensive engine issues I could not afford to fix. I was only young, I felt I had to let it go. I wish I had just put it in my Dad's garage. It's gone now, not registered any more, RIP.

I feel like vintage motorcycle guys and vintage Porsche guys have a lot in common, it's a feeling of the old tech that allows to you to be truly connected to the machine and transports you to a time when things weren't the way they are now. Of course there's one difference between vintage motorcycle guys and vintage Porsche guys and that's one's in it for the mileage and the other is in it for the enjoyment of the profit typically.

I worked at brumos with Don being about on the race team and running the museum . Hurley passing thru getting ready for Brumos events. . Those guys have Porsche in their DNA. I'm still surprised ,they sold you that car...it's a miracle....nothing gets sold out of the museum. I drove the 550 in the parking lot behind the race shop...once just before the value of those cars hit 1 million. The 550 the museum owns has to be worth double that. Every museum car RUNS ! BRUMOS name should really be bought and used again, in vintage racing,automobiles,car sales. Everything Porsche it just seems to be idle,now they sold the dealership. I'm very happy driving my Datsun Z S30"s ,but the Porsche's are in a class "ALONE" Because in the World of Street Performance Sports Cars, no other manufacturer kept their design philosophy so stead fast and true as PORSCHE did with the 911. They made it thru ,bumper impact demands , strangling emissions ,even sales marketeers who insist the corporate heads, change a design to fit more customer tastes, making many Sports Cars of the past into bloated touring cars. Porsche stood solid ,building a Sports Car Drivers ,tool , for the street and track !

Yes in '78 a 911 sold for about 15k so I made do with a 77 MGB and a '74 Midget the B wasn't a thriller but the Spridget was fun the 911 was not to be but I'm ok with it I can appreciate that someone else owns them because there are truly bigger things in life I've got my dads old Dodge truck and thats cool to me he loved it and so do I

Cool video, my shop recently supplied the correct 1968 Recaro Sports Seats for this car. Kelly got the car without Sports Seats but they were listed on the Kardex so after some hunting the car is whole again. This car has really come along and the owner is a great guy.
