Good review. Liked all the question and answers. Could you, or maybe other posters, tell me how well the loaded SQ8 would do off road, and especially on bad winter roads in ski country during big snow storms (The best days to ski so gotta be able to get there and back each day)? And maybe how well it would do compared to the loaded Q8? Clearly they would do well on good roads in the summer, but these are supposed to be suv's after all, and I need the larger variety of capabilities. Thank you

Thanks very much for your comprehensive answer to my question. Glad you are having a good wireless ACP experience. I’m just waiting for manufacturers to implement the dual screen map support that comes with iOS 13 and then I will pull the pin. Currently only the latest Renault Clio has driver display turn directions that arrived in iOS 9 so I might have a bit of a wait !

Peter...late watching tonight. A superb film again and as you say, maybe too big for the use I would have but another film on the Porsche Macan S/GTS and Range Rover Sport P400E Autobiography Sport (or better the 5.0L SVR!) would be good! Interesting about traffic sign recognition because both my LR and Mercedes can read signs intended for side roads where the the road splits off at an angle...also it picks up vandalised ones so a 30 modified to “80” and I have had it read that incorrect speed! The matrix headlights on the S/Q8 are way beyond what the previous generation (I had the S5 with matrix) was capable of. The Q8 has the best lights of any car I've ever driven, hands down. It's also the scariest to park (although somehow shrinks when you're actually driving it).

Great video Peter! It will be interesting to see how the SQ8 does sales wise. It’s still a shame all the new S models (upwards from the S4) are diesel with fake exhausts. Wish they’d just put a V6 in the S and the V8s in RS models.

I'm all for tech, but when those matrix LEDs fail and you have to pay literally thousands to replace them (for headlights!), you won't think they are so amazing. I'd rather manually switch high beams.

If I was going to be picky I would say the Porsche had a substantial reflection of the dashboard and everything on its top in the windscreen due to the rake of the glass. I know this would get on my nerves, so I won`t be buying one as I`m a Pensioner and its a bit rich, also I could probably get into one, but not necessarily get back out, so I am crossing it off my wanted right list now!!!

It's definitely a vehicle worthy of consideration, but I still think the rear slope is too compromising. You have a massive vehicle, but is compromised on luggage space. I'm a BMW man so I'd stick with the X5, or probably more realisitically the X3. As far as all the screens go, I think they've gone overkill on information, but that's just a modern cars in general, so not bashing Audi. It has become a distraction. having all that information in the car definitely takes away from where your attention should be IMO.
