Ive been to that wolf sanctuary Chris mentioned in New Jersey, it is under much better management now, changed in like 2016 i think? Anyway, animals are much better managed and theyre mosly wolf hybrids rescued from people who bought them as puppies and hand no idea what they were getting into. Theres now ones separately assessed for interacting with people, and others that are just there to live there.

Only having women running a wolf encounter spot is already a problem. They need consistent, long term and solid relationships with both biological males and females to be safe to the public. But then the associate making a scene in front of the wolves when you don’t do something exactly right is even more dangerous. Their reaction could cause the wolves more stress or worse k!ll someone. Wolves main form of communication is growling. Even “happy” growls can be terrifying if you’re not used to it. Barring teeth is always your first warning when it comes to most canines. Not even full teeth, just quivers. Not that they’ll bite you at the time, they’re just uncomfortable and would like you to stop whatever it is you’re doing. More or less go away For Chris I assume it wasn’t anything he did. Chris is huge, and the wolf wanted a reaction from him. Whether he’d match it or cower away. It’s not so much a dominance thing, it’s just to see if he was potentially a threat. I’m sure the wolves felt better seeing Chris terrified, but that’s just how wolves do.

The animals that show any signs of aggression are now not included in the hands on interaction. It's really cool and I highly recommend it! They have a big wolfie thats like the size of a bear and personality of a capybara
