I know you can't have an "here's all the facts" thing in this format, especially for Twitch viewers with our limited attention span. So I wanted to elaborate a bit on the frog pregnancy test bit, and just how biologists believe the disease spread. African clawed frogs have this uncanny ability to resist the disease called kytrid fungus, which usually kills other frogs. Because it kills its host, it's hard for the fungus to spread. But because this particular frog is resistant to it, the spores of the fungus remain dormant on their skin, until it finds a more suitable host. So what happened was that hundreds of thousands of these frogs were imported from Africa for these pregnancy tests, then some of them got out into the wild and started breeding. They came into contact with other frogs, who had been infected with the fungus, and carried the spores around to new frog populations, acting as a sort of go-between so that the infected local frogs didn't necessarily have to get in contact with the new populations themselves. This lead to other frog populations declining, giving more resources to the clawed frogs, making them spread further and taking the fungus with them to even more new populations, until the fungus had spread far enough that it could propagate on its own to new frog populations.

As a kid we had Brahma's, the chickens was just there for eegs, but we had two hens, they became pets, we could walk with them like dogs, we could give it few commands, it loved to get hugs, they were so huge but calm and friendly, sadly because every kid in the neighbourhood love them and came with grass and weeds for feeding, but one day, the kids had pick some up that was sprayed😢 still remember how one of them walked over (then hen, not children) to my dad, troubled walking, like it was drunk, it went over to my father like it knew it was goodbye, it just leand in for a hug, they hugged for 30 minutes and died in his arms❤🥺😭
