Hello everyone today I have made a video of me doing a quick service on a 2007 Peugeot 107 with 1Litre petrol engine. So in a video you will see me replacing a spark plugs, air filter, oil and oil filter. Spark plugs I have used is NGK 5788 and the best tool to use for this replacement would be long reach spark plug tool I have used a long socket and extension in a video as a alternative. Oil I used was 5W-30 Fully Synthetic. Enjoy a video. 107 is very different from the cars I usually work on but very pleasant experience.
This video is recorded in 4K quality so please set your video settings to the maximum available.

Always blows me away how all these engine parts are able to do whatever they need to do for probably hundreds of thousands of times per hour, for years with massive temperature variations. Never had a 107 but I had a 206 and I miss how much simpler repairs were on the smaller cars

This 107 is probably the easiest car to service. Very tiny but surprisingly provides quite a lot of stuff as a car. Remember had old 106 back in a day use to be so much fun. This one is a bit of fun too

That's because the 107 isn't a French car. It's a Toyota engine.

Very useful video. I've somehow (stupidly) managed to drop a piece of small circle shaped foam / plastic cap liner into the oil tank. Do you know what the easiest way is to get stuff out of the oil tank? I can't see it when I look into the tank.

Great video, helped me out a lot on the wife's car. Did you adjust the spark gap before replacing the plugs, or did you just drop them ? If you did adjust the gap, would you kindly tell what the gap size was please?

Hello! glad to see your back on youtube! could you give me some advice i have a 2012 peugeot 208 1.4 hdi & i cant get cylinder head off to change blown gasket Does the throttle body need to be removed? I cant get the valve cover off because throttle body is above it but it seems awkward to remove. no guides on the internet thanks
@Mad4FrenchCars
@Mad4FrenchCars 2 жыл бұрын
Not gonna lie to you mate changing a head gasket on these requires almost everything off the engine including throttle body, exhaust manifold and what ever else bolts on to a cylinder head. But the question is are you sure you need a new head gasket as sometimes problem is lying somethere else. Hdi engines rarely suffer head gasket issues. What's the issue you have? You will have to strip a ton of bits for a head to come off.

@@Mad4FrenchCars Hi again! thx very much for your reply. I managed to get it further apart today. the top part of the head with the cam in it came off, unbolted turbo from exhaust manifold, definitely a head gasket it was driven without water after wife crashed it and busted the radiator. I'm stuck as to what to remove next, the bolts are out but it seems theres loads of other crap bolted to it and not immediately obvious how to remove it all
@Mad4FrenchCars

@@Dpfdoctor you will just have to work your way around the head and remove everything what's possible. Have you removed a main bolts holding a block and head together. It's very hard to explain by text and unfortunatelly I have no video about it yet.

I wouldn't touch it. Put a bottle of K seal into the coolant. If will fix substantial holes in the gasket and wont damage the cooling system. Seriously, its worth a shot and if it doesn't work then you can always do the head

Hi there, quick question 308 1.6 HDI. Replaced injector seals, won't start and I'm getting diesel leaking from the return hoses at the top of injectors 2 and 3. Any ideas? I'm thinking air in high pressure system so will try bleeding the lines again the nut. The other thing I have read is that the 1.6 hdi can be a pug to start after working on the fuel system snd a tow might be required.
@Mad4FrenchCars

Hi mate you right sometimes they can be a bit of a trouble to start after working on a fuel systems. Have you changed a small green o rings on top of injectors where return pipes go on. Also have you insert a clips to secure a return hoses back in place fully. Sometimes it can effect a start aswell but I think non start issue is more to do with air in a system as you said. Just keep trying to turn it over many times also check those return hoses as it doesn't sound right
@HarryFlashmanVC
@HarryFlashmanVC Жыл бұрын
@@Mad4FrenchCars I didn't bother changing the green seals but I will do now. I think the R clips are on ok. The return hoses were off the car for over 2 weeks so it's quite possible the old seals have hardened in the air. I'll swap them out, I'll then bleed the high pressure lines by cracking a half turn on each inlet ... very carefully! I'll then try a tow start. I was originally thinking that I'd caused an issue with the inlet manifold seals when replacing the inlet manifold..as it happens the original seals were in excellent condition so I cleaned them up. I also know that gasket leaks on this type of inlet manifold are pretty rare as the design is robust. Also I doubt we would be getting such a volume of return diesel on 2 or 3 if they were leaking. I am helping a friend out.. I bloody hate diesels! Never get this sort of problem.with my old 1984 CX! Thank you BTW very very helpful
@HarryFlashmanVC

@@Mad4FrenchCars so I bled the high pressure inlets at the injector nuts, replaced and refitted the green seals on the return. That fixed the return leak on 2 and 3. We then tow started the car. Lots... LOTS of white smoke (uncombusted diesel) but she started but then stalled under load. Checked again..lots of diesel in the engine bay, turned her over.. there's a diesel leak from the inlet thread of the high pressure inlet hose on number 4 injector. This must have been caused by 'over enthusiastic' tapping with a hammer to remove the injector and the consequence is a microscopic change in the shape of the hole. So question.. 1- would such a leak on number 4 injector cause the vehicle to stall under load and be very difficult in starting? 2- how would you go about repairing such a leak? A combo of TFT tape and sealant to protect the tape from the diesel. Or we will need a recon injector. Either way I'll put my diagnostic on it tomorrow and have a look.. (should have done this some time ago but lent it to a friend)

@@HarryFlashmanVC hi mate it would deffinatelly cause a problem staring and running and there will be a lot of diesel coming out. Also Diagbox will show faults with fuel presure is too low. As a sensor on a fuel rail wil read it too low so it will affect the car engine work. Try to see if you can sort something out but if its really damaged then might have to recondition injector.
