Had a 205 and a 309, fun little cars. Be nice to see it all cleaned up and the new wheels

Look like a nice little car near identical to my '90 205 XL. For being stood outside for a year it actually doesn't look bad at all. Bodyworks seems to be very straight as well. I found that even after being in storage for a while, the old Peugeot TU engine still starts easily. Mine has been in storage for nearly 2 years now, but every 6 months it starts up like nothing happened.

Hi, its a really nice example to be fair, the body works decent and solid with no rust. the paint work is quite rough as its had a botched paint job in the past but I think it adds character :). it always starts really well but i need to get to the bottom of the issues with the rough idle

@@KernowGarage My 205 is Tibesti Beige, which has held up quite nicely over time. I think it being single stage paint is one of the main reason for that. Unfortunately mine has got quite few nasty dents. (all along the passenger side) Bodywork on the 205 is surprisingly strong against rust, but dents very easily.

Hello mate, nice video! I do love and old cold start, sometimes rattling tappets are better than quiet ones, I have 2 suggestions for you regarding the misfire, firstly check for any vacuum leaks where the carb is bolted down any check vacuum pipes for any splits check break booster. Little tip use break cleaner around gaskets around the carb, pipes and around the booster, if the engine revs slightly when applying the break cleaner the engine uses the cleaner as fuel and can give you an idea where the leak is. 2nd suggestion is check for any play in the distributor where the rota arm attaches. The latter was my issue with my cavalier, I have a 2 part video showing the fault and repair. I hope you find the issue I know the slight misfire is dam annoying 😂 good luck! Steve.

Hi mate sorry for the late reply, my next point to check will be the brake booster and the vacuum pipe that supplies it. I'll sort out a video soon, got a big change in the fleet too!
