Hi, the new rims you have….. there were thousands up and down the country at Peugeot dealers. Many models were sent out of the factory with those steel wheels (with those centre caps-e.g, the GTX model) but when a customer specified alloys, they were fitted at the dealership and the steels “disposed of”. The black centre caps are correct for the wheels and were retained by the close proximity of the wheel bolts. The centre caps were fitted to a range of Peugeots- 305 for example but were fitted to talbots also-they had a “T” in the middle though. The brakes are bendix. Check the pads are not seized and that that they have the stainless steel springs clips fitted correctly by pressing the edge of the pad towards to centre of the disc- they should spring back…… do NOT attempt to undo the caliper bleed nipple (steel )without applying a lot of heat first. It is likely siezed solid due to cathodic corrosion- fit NEW and apply copper grease to the threads and then proper bleed screw cap. ….. good luck ! I have one of therse stashed….it was my daily for many years…..

Look like a really clean example. These old 205's are quite hardy little cars.

they are indeed. there aren't many super minis from these days that will still be around in 32 years
