I have the normal gti and i want to swap the engine to the gti180 what parts do i have to change and is both of them have the same ecu ?

The engines are set up differently. You will need the ecu as well, yes

@@sp88tips can't just install the software of the 180 to the current ecu ? I don't need to change the electricity cables and the ambolizer with the switch system

@mofalles in the video I showed you the crank sensor is in the wrong location and is the reason why you will need the new ecu

Hi, i am putting a EW12J4 head on my EW10J4 block, but i noticed something. The EW10J4 head has something like a check valve, or a regulator on the oil passage, and the EW12J4 just has a smaller hole for the oil passage, nothing more. Should i be concerned? I will not use the variable valve timing, since i am putting the cams from the EW10J4, but the lack of that valve is kinda worrying for the hydraulic lifters.

That small check valve exists but no one at peugeot could tell me what its for. I didn't fit it to the ew12 with ew10j4s build

I know that EW12 valve is for the oil not to drain from VVT. But valve in EW10? Is it closed? Opened? Or is it just non-return valve?

@@sp88tips Valve's number: 0235.17 - non-return valve. DIAM: 3,5x12-22. Same purpose as in EW12, but in EW12 number of the valve is 0235.16 and it's different DIAM. You MUST fit some kind of valve on the head or else cams will start kind of dry.

Hi! Sorry for my english. I'm planing to use a EW12J4 engine, from a 407 and put the EW10J4s head from a C4 VTS. Is this feasible? or it's better to port the head of the EW12J4? For my understanding the EW10J4S has also bigger cams, it's that true? Thanks

I've not done it, the 407 coupe came with a 2.2 6 speed box so it's possible, I hope it fits well

I would say the big difference in power aint the heads exhaust manifold and inlet has way bigger throttle body than the s16 valve is just a wee bit bigger

Question so i just need 2swap head but throttle body of a 135bhp one the rc has a electronic throttle body and doesnt the rc have a diffrent oil pump 🤔

Hello, how are you? I'm Brazilian and I have a Peugeot 307 with an ew10j4 engine. Here in Brazil we don't have the ew12j4 and ew10j4s engines because Peugeot doesn't sell cars with these engines here. I'm not finding the heads of these engines for sale in my country. Do you have any ideas for a head upgrade? I thought of ew10j4s catcams w/ VVT-off but on the ew10j4 head. Peugeots are not very popular in Brazil. Sorry for the bad english :/

I'd would open the ports up bigger the the ew10j4s the next part would be cutting larger valve seats.

Hello, I have a question regarding the 140 to 180 cylinder head swap, when doing the swap, what shall I consider changing ECU and wiring loom, can I remove VVT? Also shall I consider doing some work in the pistons?

I without rewatching this video. I think I explained that you could run a ew12 head for bigger valves on a ew10j4 with factory engine management. The alternate option is using the ew12 block with a ew10j4s head but that will need the ew10j4s engine management Because the of location of the cam sensors.

12 its a 2.2 vvt from the 406coupe 167bhp but bigger bore diam so easyer to get power id be fuckin happy running 220bhp n\a tuned its fast enouth and more reliable

If you just add VVT to an EW10J4, you'd get an EW10A, which only makes about 4kW more power. The main difference with the EW10J4S is that it has much bigger valves than the EW10J4. So if you put that head onto the EW10J4 even if you have to disable the VVT, you'll have much more power.
